Holiday Hoopsgiving – Saturday Show-Stoppers

SNELLVILLE, GA – Following our own Jon Hemingway’s Friday night visit, I made my way out to Shiloh HS for the Saturday slate of games.

Many of the same teams hit the floor, prep schools and other hihg-profile programs from out of state always highlight this yearly lineup, so we’ll look at some that caught my eye Jon’s piece https://ontheradarhoops.com/otrhoopsreport-holiday-hoopsgiving-recap-november-28-2022/ didn’t get to touch on.

Jahseem Felton | 6-5 | CG | Southern California Academy | 2024

Among the many prep schools in attendance this SoCal roster like all was loaded with top talent, Felton combined with slithery 2023 big point guard and Providence-commit Garwey Dual for a lethal backcourt and the guard options actually went deeper for the team from out west, Felton was among the best overall players I saw all spring and summer on our OTR circuit with BMaze Elite and he’s naturally receiving high major attention, love the guts and fire he shows as a lead guard but he can really score it as a wing too.

Jaeden Mustaf | 6-6 | CG | Carmel Christian School | 2024

Mustaf’s backcourt mate 2023 Bryce Cash caught Hemingway’s eye and mine as well but you’d be remiss to sleep on the abilities of Mustaf, long and powerful he was a killer getting at the rim and had plenty of shooting range to hurt you on the back-off, love the 2-way possibilities at the high major D1 level for this one.

Carl Cherenfant | 6-5 | SG | Calvary Christian Academy | 2023

Headed to Memphis Cherenfant has fascinated since I first caught him with the Georgia Stars 2 years ago, the scoring variety can be so lethal in spurts and from such a diversity of spots on the floor it can be so frustrating for opposing defenses, if you don’t get back on defense he runs the floor so fluidly and it usually results in some high-rising finishes, a ton of fun to watch score the basketball.

Aden Holloway | 6-2 | PG | Prolific Prep | 2023

Part of an electric backcourt with fellow 2023 Trey Green our Jon Hemingway gave Green some much-deserved love so we’ll look at Holloway’s excellence here, love the speed and daring this future Auburn Tiger shows as he can slow you down in true floor general-mode and then blow-by on the dribble, the jump shot is a weapon from all ranges and launches with confidence, this was a frighteningly stacked Prolific team and Holloway and Green feeding off of each other was a pleasure to watch.

Collin Murray-Boyles | 6-7 | SF | Wasatch Academy | 2023

Perhaps no one made the game look easier on a stacked day of studs than Murray-Boyles, he combined a smoothness of movement with plenty of waiting-in-reserve power to either glide by folks off the bounce or be a terror on the glass and putbacks, a Greenforest (GA) team not short on size and length had no answer for him when he wanted to get something down toward or up around the basket, stop and pop shooting range is in the arsenal as well asd the Upward Stars standout is a huge get for South Carolina.
