By:  @OntheRadarHoops

Ty Hudson-(Mableton, Ga), Southern Stampede-2015

Height: 6’

Position: Point Guard

Committed College: Clemson

This 6-foot lead guard is a tough and pyhiscal guard who improved the ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter over the past year. He has the ability to get into the lane allowing him to find his teammates for an open basket or finish around the rim. Hudson is a 4 star point guard who that fielded offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Tennesee, and Xavier. Hudson is the first player to commitment for Clemson’s 2015 class.

Player Evaluations:

5/24/14 – Nike EYBL (Minneapolis, Minn.) – Brandon Clay

Hudson was as good in this eval as I’ve seen him. The left-handed point guard hit the 3-pointer here and attacked the basket too. He’s a strong, compact built option at the 1.

5/18/14 – Nike EYBL Boo Williams (Hampton, Va.) – Shun Williams

During the first half Ty seemed a little out of control at times. He was able to beat has defender off the dribble as he got into the lane he forced several shots or turned the ball over. As the game progressed his decision making improved as did his shot selection, which lead him to finishing plays around the basket. This lefty guard is an average shooter that will make 1 out of 3 open shots. Defensively he was able to create several turnovers late to help the Stampede pull out the win.

3/15/14 – The Elite Preview (Norcross, Ga.) – Brandon Clay

Hudson played more off of the ball here in a showcase setting though we project him as a point guard next level. He’s powerful at the guard spot with a better floor game than classmate Ty Cockfield right now. That said Hudson is a good athlete but didn’t show as elite in that category right now.

11/26/13 – OntheRadarHoops.com Invitational vs. Berkmar (Atlanta, Ga.) – Jonathan Hemingway

Ty is a left handed point guard who is good at putting the ball on the floor. He is tough and strong enough to be able to make up for a lack of consistency behind the arc. He simply makes plays and when he gets to the free throw line, he is was steadily productive here tonight.
