GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Adrian Penland Fall Workout brought together some of the best talent in North Georgia to compete on a weekend before the High School season kicked off. In hopes of giving players in this area the most amount of exposure possible, evaluators from the OTRHoopsReport.com were on hand to document the action. Here is the first look at the standouts from Sunday afternoon.

Tyler Brown – (Gainesville, Ga.) – East Hall HS – 2016

Tyler Brown Head ShotThe 6-foot-1 guard caught our eye at the workout with his ability to score the ball. He is a rhythm scorer who likes the ball in his hands to slash and score in the paint. Brown showed range as well as he hit a few jumpers from beyond the arc. He will be counted upon by coach Joe Dix this season to provide a perimeter scoring punch for a loaded East Hall team in region 7-AAA.

Jeremiah Buford – (Lawrenceville, Ga.) – Central Gwinnett HS – 2015

Jeremiah Buford Head ShotBuford put himself among the camp’s best performers on Sunday afternoon with his solid performance. The 6-5 wing has the ability to shoot the ball from behind the three-point line and he does it with consistent shooting form. This skill and his size alone should make him one of Gwinnett County’s most watched seniors this season. However, it is his improved ability to attack the lane that could make him an instant impact performer for coach Branden Mayweather and the Black Knights.

D’Marcus Simonds – (Gainesville, Ga.) – Gainesville HS – 2016

D Simmonds Head ShotThe talent of Simonds was not a secret headed into the Sunday afternoon workout. His athleticism and ability to attack the rim have earned a No. 58 national ranking in the BrandonClayScouting.com Elite 60. The 6-4 shooting guard displayed that talent in a gym full of North Georgia’s best prospects and he was able to score nearly at will. With Simonds switching schools to Gainesville High School this season, look for him to bring that same productivity for the Red Elephants.
