2021 West Forsyth (GA) point guard Broc Bidwell is one of the top stock-risers in Georgia’s freshman class heading into the 2017-18 school ball season. He stood out with astonishingly impressive performances at every individual showcases that I attended, and has received high praise from many reputable evaluators throughout the southeast. Bidwell may be in his first year with the Wolverines, but the 5-foot-9 hoopster is ready to make his presence felt right out of the gate.

“I’m very excited about our upcoming high school season, we had some nice wins throughout the fall that we want to build off. This year I have to improve as an all-around point guard because high school is a different level. Also, I don’t want to be labeled as ‘just a shooter.’ I want to control the game as a leader on the floor.”

Known for his finesse and superb ball skills, the offensive-minded freshman realized he needed to get stronger in order to endure the rugged grind of varsity level basketball in the peach state.

“This offseason I spent a lot of time in the weight room getting stronger and preparing my body for the season. I also incorporated some agility stuff. I trained several nights a week with Pebblebrook assistant Nick Stapleton. We focused a lot on finishing through contact and worked on my midrange shot.”

As with most first year players, the jury is still out. However, expect Bidwell’s mental and physical preparation to be key components in stamping himself as a top freshman in the Georgia High School Association.
