Alpharetta, Ga. – The post Thanksgiving high school showcase at St. Francis high school was an instant success for everyone involved. Over 20 college coaches were in the building to take in the action from the 14 high school teams who were there to compete. The seven games provided an early season test for these teams as they prepare for their region schedule in weeks to come. In these highly contested games, there were a few individuals who stood above the others. Here is the first look back at this past weekend.

FEATURE PLAYER
Malik Beasley (Alpharetta, Ga.) St. Francis High School – 2015
In the last game of the evening, the 6-foot-3 guard made sure that he left a lasting impression for everyone in attendance. The strong, slashing shooting guard made his presence known early in the first half as he took a baseline drive and finished with a one handed slam over the Chattahoochee defenders. That play propelled Beasley to a 31 point performance in the Saturday finale. Beasley hit multiple three-pointers as well, which makes the powerful guard a nearly impossible match-up for most high school defenders.
Beasley’s talents were not lost on college coaches either. Associate Head Coach Larry Davis from the University of Cincinnati made the trip to the Atlanta area specifically to come to the OntheRadarHoops.com Invitational and watch Beasley. After St. Francis finished off a 20 point victory, Davis gave Beasley an offer to become a Bearcat at the college level. Beasley has already garnered a number of offers and interest from around the country. If he continues to display this type of diversified scoring ability, expect his scholarship offers to pile up like the numbers in the score book.

Around the Rim
Although the final score would not indicate, the Cougars from Chattahoochee competed for most of the game with the Knights of St. Francis. Much of the reason why Coach Kasey Martin’s team stayed close was behind the 26 point effort of Marcus Sheffield. The 6-6 guard has one of the best midrange games in the Class of 2015.

Pebblebrook came back from a 15 point deficit to knock off Berkmar. Much of that comeback was led by slashing point guard Ty Hudson. His key free throws under ten seconds left in the game secured the victory for the Falcons.

Although their starting post players were out of the lineup that did not stop Duluth High School from running away from East Hall. Much of that success came from point guard Zaynah Robinson. The senior point guard signed with Norfolk State a few weeks ago. His array of ball handling moves and sure shooting from behind the arc helped the Wildcats cruise to victory.

The highlight of the Invitational was provided by Deven Dorsett from Miller Grove High School. The 6-6 forward used his vertical lift to dunk on 7 footer Doral Moore of Luella. You can watch that highlight here:
