USA Basketball Mini-Camp Evaluation: Theo Pinson

Theo Pinson of Greensboro, North Carolina showed that he is much more than an athletic slasher during the course of the camp. The 6-foot-6 class of 2014 wing prospect has already chosen to continue his playing career at the University of North Carolina. Pinson’s presence next fall will give Roy Williams a versatile scoring threat on the perimeter capable of making a play to score anywhere inside of 25 feet.

Pinson’s ability to shoot the basketball makes him a player to watch longterm. We view him as a shooting specialist with good athleticism as well especially in the mid-range off of the bounce or catch. It will interesting to watch him learn how to effectively use screens to get space and get his shot off. That specific skill could very well make him an NBA contributor at some point in his playing career.

Brandon Clay teams up with Marques Burnett to talk UNC commit Theo Pinson and the class of 2014 preps at USA Basketball Mini-Camp
