PROGRAM REVIEW: Southern Stampede

There is not a better moment in time this summer where you can point to the impact that the Southern Stampede had upon the travel circuit than at the Elite 32 Session I. On Wednesday afternoon college coaches from around the nation piled into the All Tournament Players Park in Marietta, Ga., to catch a glimpse of this talented squad. At least six players on their roster will give a verbal commitment to a Division One program before their high school eligibility is up. In addition, two of their current players are considered as top 100 players in the nation.

As for individual players, there were not many players around the nation who had a better summer than class of 2016 sharp-shooter Jared Harper of Atlanta, Ga. His breakout summer helped carry the Southern Stampede to the EYBL Finals at Peach Jam. At 5-foot-9 he impressively finished as one of the top 15 scorers on the EYBL circuit this year. His offer list after July is impressive as he picked up offers from Kansas State, Old Dominion and Ole Miss.

The Stampede boast of one of the most explosive back courts in the nation with the combination of Harper and Ty Hudson of Mableton, Ga. Hudson, a 6-1 left handed combo guard picked up offers from Oklahoma State, South Florida, Virginia Tech and VCU after playing at the Elite 32.

The pipeline of talent is far from drying up as the 16U Stampede team also made the EYBL Finals at Peach Jam which were played in North Augusta, S.C. We will be talking about names like Alijami DurhamJay Estime and Zephaniah Jasper for months to come.
