Recruiting Rundown: Jawun Evans

Class of 2015 point guard Jawun Evans of Dallas, Texas has been a consistent name mentioned by OnTheRadarHoops.com publisher Shun Williams recently. After moving from Greenville, S.C., this summer, Evans now attends Kimball HS and his presence has drawn college coaches to the campus gymnasium throughout the contact period. This week, Baylor, NC State and Texas all made their way on campus with Texas offering him a scholarship in the process. A four-star point guard, Evans already had offers from Cincinnati, Clemson, Illinois, Memphis, SMU, USC and others. In a 2015 class that lacks the traditional depth of recent classes at the point guard position, look for Evans stock to continue to rise throughout the school season.

USA Basketball Camp Eval: Payton Pritchard (West Linn, Ore.)

Pritchard, a class of 2016 point guard, showed that he has the ball skill to receive interest from NCAA Tournament schools throughout his recruitment. A right-hand dominant general, Pritchard was strong and skilled enough to compete against some of the nation’s top senior guards including Tyus Jones of Apple Valley, Minn. Pritchard’s ability to knockdown the open jump shot out beyond the FIBA 3-point line makes him a specialist as far as the guards in this class goes. We project him to be on of the nation’s top prospects and possibly the premier sophomore prospect in the northwest region.
