Atlanta, Ga – The state of Georgia produced two McDonald All Americans this year and both happen to be big men.  Thomasville’s 6’9 Reggie Perry received the honor, and 6’9 Wheeler High School power forward EJ Montgomery was also chosen to participate in the All-Star Game in March.  Will Montgomery chose a school by then or will he remain undecided by the time the McDonald’s Game rolls into Atlanta.

Once an Auburn commit, where his sister played basketball as well, the Montgomery family thought it was in his best interest to reopen his recruitment in wake of the FBI investigation into assistant coach Chuck Person.  The schools on the table now are North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Duke, Georgia, USC, Georgetown, Kentucky, UCLA and Clemson.  His plan is to narrow the list down to five schools in the next couple of weeks, while setting up some official visits.

Originally from Florida, Montgomery has always been mentioned amongst the top of the 2018 class, but it wasn’t until he made the move to Georgia that he started consistently showing and proving.  The 6’9 forward fits into the mold of new age basketball with his size and ability to play effectively inside and out.  Consistency has been key for Montgomery, his work ethic has seemed to catch up with his talent as he post senior year averages of 26 points and 14 rebounds per game.
