With the 2019-20 Georgia High School Association Basketball Season kicking off this week, we unveil our first regular season power rankings [November] for Georgia regardless of classification.




McEACHERN


Classification: 7A


KEY PLAYERS:

Sharife Cooper, Dylan Cardwell, Randy Brady, Cam McDowell

No need to drop McEachern after completing a perfect season with returning Mr. Georgia Basketball Sharife Cooper back in the fold with additions Dylan Cardwell and Randy Brady.  




GRAYSON


Classification: 7A


KEY PLAYERS:

Devion Smith, Caleb Murphy, Toneari Lane, Ian Schieffeli, Taje Kelly, Josh Smith
Last Season Finish: 25-4

The addition of Norcross transfer Caleb Murphy and Shiloh transfer Toneari Lane moved the Rams into the No. 2 spot and they’ll stay there for now.


PEBBLEBROOK


Classification: 7A


KEY PLAYERS:

Kaleb Washington, Tyler Shirley, Danny Stubbs, Blake Hadley, Jamall Clycle
Last Season Finish: 20-10

Five stellar juniors form the foundation, and the emergence of 6-foot-7 forward Kaleb Washington give the Falcons a chance to win a state title.


NORCROSS


Classification: 7A

JT Thor, Josh Taylor, Quincy Ademokoya, Kok Yat, Jaden Harris, Kevon Eskridge

The Bluedevils have one of the best players in the Country in JT Thor and the addition of Josh Taylor help Norcross ensure a top 5 spot.




TRI-CITIES


Classification: 6A


KEY PLAYERS:

Peyton Daniels, Demetrius Rives, Eli’Sha King, Julius Lymon
Last Season Finish: 26-6

Tri-Cities is the favorite to repeat as State Champions in 6A.


EAST COWETA


Classification: 7A


KEY PLAYERS:

Chris Youngblood, Brandon Stroud, Haziah Phillips, Marcus Clark
Last Season Finish: 24-4
[2018-19 1st Round]

East Coweta will be a contender in 7A powered by seniors Chris Youngblood and Brandon Stroud.


ST. FRANCIS


A-PRIVATE

Dwon Odom, Jusaun Holt, Chase Ellis, Jordan Brown

St. Francis still have Dwon Odom and a veteran team back to compete for a State Championship. 




THERRELL


Classification: 2A


KEY PLAYERS:

Robbie Armbrester, Roman Son, Cameron Fortson, Ra’Sean Frederick

Robbie Armbrester has been one of the more impressive players we have covered this fall. He has the perfect supporting cast in Ra’Sean Fredrick and Roman Son to help for another title run.


TUCKER


Classification: 6A


KEY PLAYERS:

Jermontae Hill, Raylon Barrion, Terrence Edwards, David Giddens
Last Season Finish: 28-5

Tucker made a jump into the top 10 with the addition of scoring guard Terrance Edwards. 


BERKMAR


Classification: 7A


KEY PLAYERS:

Dara Olonade, Elijah Wood, Jalen DeLoach, Malique Ewin, Camden Blount, Jermarhi Hill
Last Season Finish: 19-9
[2018-19 First Round]

Berkmar has one of the most talented front courts in the state with Jalen DeLoach and Malique Ewin. Experience matters, and that’s what’s holding Berkmar back from being in the top 5.




PACE ACADEMY


Classification: 3A


KEY PLAYERS:

Matthew Cleveland, Madison Durr, Cole Middleton, Reign Watkins

The addition of 4-Star forward Matthew Cleveland has Pace Academy as the early favorite to win the 3A State Championship.


DUTCHTOWN


Classification: 5A


KEY PLAYERS:

Cam Bryant, Jamaine Mann, Kam Hobbs, Isaiah Placide
Last Season Finish: 16-15

Dutchtown has a talented 1-2 punch in Cam Bryant and Jamaine Mann, they will be hard to beat late in the season.


WOODARD ACADEMY


Classification: 4A


KEY PLAYERS:

Walker Kessler, Jacorrei Turner, Michael Whitmore, Will Demorest, Will Richard, Emory Lanier
Last Season Finish: 22-9

Senior Walker Kessler has the steady hand still guiding the offense, and he’s joined by a new supporting cast, including Will Richard and Emory Lanier.




SANDY CREEK


Classification: 4A


KEY PLAYERS:

Jabari Smith Jr., Deshon Proctor, Immanuel Alexander, Matt Williams
Last Season Finish: 27-4

Sandy Creek has one of the most talented big men in the country in Jabari Smith Jr. who will anchor the paint along with DeShon Proctor.


SOUTH COBB


Classification: 6A


KEY PLAYERS:

Zocko Littleton, Raymond Baka, Emon Washington, Travis Burrus. Jameel Rideout
Last Season Finish: 20-7
[2018-19 Sweet Sixteen]

Sophomore playmaker Zocko Littleton and versatile forward Emon Washington will help lead a talented South Cobb group.


WHEELER


Classification: 7A


KEY PLAYERS:

Sam Hines, Ja’Heim Hudson, Max Harris, AJ Burke, Isaiah Collier, Prince Davies
Last Season Finish: 17-12
[2018-19 Sweet Sixteen]

Freshman guard Isaiah Collier has all the tools to be an instant star for the Wildcats but 6-foot-6 transfer Ja’Heim Hudson may be the secret sauce.
