Sweet 16 Session II – 15U notebook – April 28, 2021

MARIETTA, GA –The On The Radar Hoops Sweet Sixteen showcase has always assembled a talented number of teams. This season things were no different.

Players from every age group took the chance to show out. Here are some of the 15U players to make an impression this weekend.

Loyalty United 2024 Blue had a solid showing

The Orlando-based organization went undefeated on the weekend. There 2024 Blue team went 4-0 with a solid win over LA Broncos out of Louisiana. The 61-60 win was the closest matchup the Blue squad had, which had a mix of players from the Class of 2024 and 2025. Some of those players were Keishaun Robinson, Landen Paquette and Gabriel Morales. These guys were active on both ends of the floor and were flying all over the place on defense. The youngster on the team was 2025 Myles Mayfield, who played big during various opportunities in the open court. This is a team that made improvement during every game or within the game adjustments. Look for this team to continue to make growth as the travel basketball season continues.

Players who showed out

2024 Carter Stewart is a magician at handling the basketball. The point guard for Hoop Dreams Kentucky was dishing the rock like a Las Vegas dealer on Casino night. He was the catalyst in the team’s success over the weekend.

2024 AJ Pigford had a strong showing for the Gwinnett Hawks. He dropped 28 points in the Hawks opening night win. Watching him perform helped one see his versatility around the court. Pigford is strong and quick enough to make sure opponents were off balance.

2024 Elijah Thurmon is skilled hooper for 5th Quarter Athletics. Thurmon is a 6-foot-4 athlete who understands how to use his body inside. He can mix it up on either end of the court. He opened up the weekend with 11 points and kept the pace up. Thurmon is a workhorse with a soft touch around the basket.

2024 Braden Mullis is a high-level scorer. This lefty for Blue Collar Basketball understands how to use angles and plays at a high speed. He is a solid guard that makes plays for other players. Mullis is a coach’s son and has been around the game for a while. He has a great feel for the game.

2024 Malachi Jackson opened up the weekend with a game-winner. The lightening quick point guard put his team in the win column hitting a buzzer-beater to give Warner-Robins All-Star the victory.

2024 Errnesto Almonte may be the next one to emerge from Trinity Christian School. The Atlanta All-Stars product was tenacious on both ends of the floor. He is an active scorer and a rebound maniac.

2024 David Williams is a prospect many will need to track. The Georgia Stunners have a player who understands how to make a difference on either end of the floor. He finished with 16 points and played with a high level of confidence all weekend.

2024 Davis Ledford’s strong performance landed him on this watch list. His 32-point performance on Saturday was solid. He shot the ball well and just knows how to knockdown shots. He finished the weekend averaging nearly 20 points a game.

2024 Dominque Wright is a long and wiry player. He recorded a solid double-double for the Gwinnett Hawks scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Write has a strong upside and a promising future.

2024 Austin White knows how to get buckets. This CP25 Tampa sniper guard was an active shooter. He has a nice-looking jumper and lets it fly with ease. The green light confidence led to a 29-point performance over the weekend.

2024 Andrew Lavigne understands how to get to the rim. The Georgia Stunners’ product had a strong 24-point performance this weekend. He then helped propel the squad to some solid wins.
