"Don't Sleep On....." - Teams Flying Low in 5A and 4A

ATLANTA, GA – I take just a little bit of pride in calling the Grovetown Warriors last year as the future 6A champions, that bold but not altogether ridiculous (at least to me) assertion that they were really good. A full room of ATL scouts and media at the Hawks-Naismith Holiday Classic scoffed, siding more with traditional powers as their predictions, but Coach Darren Douglas and his supremely talented Warriors group took home the prize, and by the way, are nearly all back for another run again in 6A. 5A gains a......

Impact Transfers – Part 3

ATLANTA, GA – With transfer portal news making national headlines at the college level and impacting rosters in massive ways, the similar phenomenon of the high school transfer player certainly has become a notable topic around the state of Georgia as well. Movement of players has certainly picked up pace in recent years, and this year’s chase for every classification will potentially be impacted by one or more geography-changing hoopsters. Part 3 goes through the remaining classifications to pull a few more notable movers, using 3 Impact Levels, all with certainly some......

Born2BallNation All-American Camp - Impression-Makers

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Got the chance to spend a few hours with coach Loren Hall and his Born2BallNation crew as they put on their All-American camp for top middle schoolers held at Central Gwinnett HS. Several impression-makers were repeat top performers from NGS’s middle school camp back in August. By: Keith Agran Deuce Grayson | G | 2030 (Team Huncho) The vast majority in attendance were from the 2027 to 2029 classes but Grayson had perhaps the day’s most stirring showing in a 3-point shooting contest performance that had all of us......

E's Phenom Fall League at Meadowcreek - Eye-Catchers

NORCROSS, GA – Dropped by Meadowcreek HS last weekend to get a look at the final week of Mustangs AC Eric Smith’s fall league. Coach Smith does a June team league as well and has a big hand in developing players around the Metro and offering opportunities to be seen for Gwinnett, DeKalb and other programs. Some Eye-Catchers from the day: By: Keith Agran Jeremiah Ruffin | 6-3 | CG | Wilson Academy | 2024  An up-tempo and athletic group from Wilson took the floor again after showing off those same qualities......
