Standouts from night one of the Atlanta Classic.
By: Kyle Sandy
2028 5-10 G Bobby Harpring – HoopAtlanta Harpring – Marist
The sharpshooting guard put up 16 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist in a 75-67 win over Georgia Legacy. Bobby showcased a quick release on his three-point shot, able to score off the catch whenever he got a glimmer of space. When he attacked off the dribble, he used good body control to absorb bumps to finish around the rim with either hand. Harpring did well changing speeds with the ball in his hands. He was active in the HoopAtlanta zone when applying pressure and did a good job sagging off of shooters to pack the lane.
2027 6-2 SG Eston McDow – HoopAtlanta Harpring – Chamblee
Up just 37-36 at the half, Eston McDow gave HoopAtlanta space in the second half with his four three-pointers. McDow finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Eston is a knockdown shooter when his feet are set. He competes on the glass against bigger more athletic opponents. Eston showed keen decision making with the ball when faced with pressure.
2027 6-6 F JJ Brown – Georgia Legacy OTR – Parkview (Pictured)
JJ is a unique mismatch with his size (250 pounds), nimble feet and well-rounded scoring touch. The lefty has a bit of an unorthodox release on his jump shot but he’s accurate, hitting a three, a pull-up and a mid-range jumper off the catch against HoopAtlanta Harpring. Brown went on a scoring binge in the second half, finishing with a game-high 22 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks. JJ excels at getting to his left hand in the post. He’s physical when backing down defenders and makes quick moves across the lane to finish. He has a hook shot he likes to turn to in traffic. When placed in the high post against the zone Brown does a nice job reading the defense, able to hit cutters. Defensively, JJ is vocal calling out screens. Brown is a sneaky good prospect that is worth tracking his final two seasons.
2027 6-0 G Chai Haywood – Georgia Legacy OTR – Brookwood
Chai scores the ball inside and out. He gets to his spots as a consistent penetrator. Haywood finds offense at all three levels. He scores on pull-ups, finishes with floaters and can sink the open three. He creates separation with his handle. Chai is an active defender who can turn defense into offense. Haywood had 14 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 3 steals in a loss.
2026 6-2 SG Christian Pak – HoopAtlanta Black – Seckinger
Christian had his way in a 60-33 win over Pure Elite Black, dumping in 21 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Pak is trending up heading into his senior season. Known for his three-point shooting, Christian has grown other areas of his game throughout his career. On Friday night it was his ability to finish off two feet in traffic which impressed most. Pak utilized jump stops and pivots to score in the paint. Christian went 5-8 from the foul line and buried two threes as he led all scorers.
2025 6-9 F Alex Lowry – AOT Unsigned – King’s Ridge
At 6-foot-9, Alex is a dangerous perimeter scorer. Lowry loves to stretch the floor with his jump shot. He is able to shoot the ball over contests, scoring on turnaround jumpers and off the catch. Alex is a steady three-point shooter but also can use his big body to spin off defenders for open looks at the rim. Lowry used his size advantage to post 17 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks in a 49-45 loss against Atlanta Xpress Orange. Programs looking for a stretch-forward need to check in on Lowry.
2026 6-0 G Izaiah Turman – Atlanta Xpress Orange – Jonesboro
The slick lefty provided 8 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal in a win over AOT Unsigned. Izaiah is elusive with the ball, a shifty creator that can get two feet in the paint whenever he wants. Turman separates himself from other guards not with just his quickness but his nose for the ball when crashing in to rebound. Izaiah can be utilized in a variety of ways – a shooter, a slasher or a distributor.
2026 5-11 PG Antonio Rivers – DFTW – Sandy Creek
Rivers brings a running back-like skill to the hardwood. Antonio is a physically stout guard who can handle himself against larger players. His burst of speed when finding holes in the defense gets him to the basket in a blink. With his strength, Antonio turns corners and forces defenses to collapse before kicking out to open shooters. Defensively, Antonio’s lateral quickness and active hands create turnovers. In DFTW’s 65-36 win over TSF, Rivers racked up 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.
2026 6-5 W Omari Scott – DFTW – Woodland-Stockbridge
Omari passes the eye-test right away. He’s big, strong and athletic. Scott can play 1-5 at the high school level, a jack of all trades. He is capable of defending inside and out and does so aggressively. Omari is physical when guarding and uses his strength to finish through contact on drives. He frees himself with spin moves and has a knack for getting back to his left hand. Omari collected 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block, touching every column of the box score. He has attractive tools that should draw college attention.
2026 6-3 G Kamiron Jones – TSF
Kamiron was a bright spot in a loss, the explosive guard putting up 16 of his team’s 36 points to pair with 5 rebounds. Jones attacks the hoop hard with bad intentions, a threat for highlight slams. Jones uses that same athleticism to get good lift on his jump shot. He’s a strong outside shooter with three-point range, draining three long balls against DFTW.
