OTR Hoops: Elite 32 Standouts from Etowah – July 18, 2024

Woodstock, GA- The On The Radar Elite 32 was held this past weekend during the first NCAA Live Period for the month of July. Over 120 college coaching staffs were on hand evaluating the action. Here is a look at some players who had notable efforts on Saturday July 13th and Sunday July 14th at Etowah High School.
By: Joel Hillsman
2025 Braedyn Gillespie- IBA The 6’0 lefty guard showed his scoring prowess by averaging 26.5ppg with 11 three-pointers in 2 games on Saturday. The highlight was his 28-point effort including the game-winner in sudden death overtime over Rocky Mountain Select (CO). Gillespie picks his spots to score by probing the lane and is especially dangerous from the perimeter off the dribble. He plays with good poise overall and when conducting the offense and is always looking to make a play defensively.
2026 Messiah Millin- Self Made Basketball (AL)- Millin is a 5’10 savvy point guard that uses his savvy, fundamental, poise, hustle, and defensive activity to make impactful plays. Millin is a high IQ guard that has good vision to find teammates in the half-court and in transition, can knock down perimeter shots and attacks the rim under control at different speeds. He guards his yard on defense, defends without fouling and turns defense into offense. In a win over South Dakota Network Millin finished with 16pts 4ast 2stl 2turnovers. Millin should see an uptick in his recruiting over the next year.
2025 Akeem Moko– South Dakota Network (SD)– Moko is 6’7 forward that runs the floor well, excellent in screen role action, contests on defense, is active on the glass and possesses a non-stop motor. In the one game we watched in full, Moko tallied a 16-point 10-rebound double-double. He scored in and round the basket with a lot of that in screen role actions. The mid-range jumper to keep defenses honest will need to continue to improve. As Moko continues to develop there should be next level interest and opportunities.
2025 Luke Kring– Gulf Coast Warriors (FL)- Kring is a lethal shooter who had 26 points and 20 points in 2 games on Sunday with a combined 9-3PTM. Kring moves well without the ball to score of the catch and creates his own shots off the dribble. He made multiple highly contested shots that made the term “good defense-better offense” come to life. As Kring continues to hone his overall game it will be interesting to see how his recruitment picks up. Shooting translates to the next level and Kring can flat out shoot the basketball.
2026 Benjamin Noon– All Arkansas Red 17U- Noon is an athletic guard with good upside. He plays the wings on both ends well, moves his feet well on defense, can create his own shot, drives with confidence, plays within the flow of the offense, and plays through contact. Noon is a bit of unknown despite being a key cog late in his high school’s state title run in Arkansas. Noon’s impactful plays along with making the “right basketball play” are easily noticed. Look to hear more from him as he goes through the recruiting process.
2026 Alex Dipaolo– MBJ Elite (FL)- Diapaolo is and outstanding catch and shoot player. He knows what he wants to do, gets to his spots with and without the ball and has nice touch from the perimeter. Step out on the jumper and he has a quick first step that finds him finishing above the rim. Diapaolo allows the game to come to him and once it does, he displays his talents. Diapaolo in the one full game we watched finished with 20 points with three three-pointers 2 blocks 3 steals. He knows how to keep defenders guessing which played a major part in MBJ Elite posting a 5-1 mark on the weekend.
2026 Brandon Heath- Kentucky Ambition 2026– Heath is a 5’9 guard that can score, distribute, and defend. Heath plays with a lot of talent around him and does an excellent job of getting everyone involved. He can create his own scoring chances and does do via the drive and the mid-range and beyond. The quick guard averaged 18ppg with six three-pointers and a bevy of assists in two games on Saturday. Heath makes sound decisions and rarely had multiple turnovers. Continue to keep an eye on him as he develops as he should begin to draw interest as he does.
