OTR Hoops: Elite 32 Standouts via David Hinds – July 16, 2024

Atlanta , Georgia, – The Live Period is here, and On the Radar Hoops scouts are flooding the scene across the greater Atlanta area. Teams from across the Southeast region are on full display putting in the hard work. Here is who stood out at the Elite 32.

By: David Hinds

Mason Bonner – B&B Academy Black – 2026

Mason Bonner is the prototypical bouncy post for the modern game. Bonner runs the floor harder than just about anyone you will find to secure easy post position on the low block. His team is filled with shooters which provides spacing and driving lanes for Bonner to camp out on the dunker’s spot for easy buckets. Bonner is more than capable of finishing anything thrown up around the rim and is equally as dominant on the defensive front. Bonner is a no-doubt next level prospect for this impressive B&B Academy team.

Waylon Tummell – Tennessee Travelers – 2028

This isn’t the first time I have put ink on Waylon Tummell. I just continue to leave supremely impressed anytime I watch him play. The big guard is flashy while also providing substance to his game. Always reading the defense several moves in advance he manipulates the D with his eyes and ball fakes. Tummell is also a confident and capable shooter from all three levels of the floor. This is a very interesting prospect to track in future years.

Blaise Tshibangu – G-Force Ryders – 2025

Blaise Tshibangu is a lengthy 6’4 wing with a deep stroke. Tshibangu has good size and wingspan for the position paired with an advanced feel for the game. He initiates offense for his team at times and is a force working downhill. The most impressive aspect of his game is his deep ball stroke. Picturesque form with a quick trigger makes Tshibangu difficult to deal with on the perimeter.

Kaleb Nobles – Filling The Lane – 2025

Kaleb Nobles is an opportunistic off-ball guard who seems to always be in the correct position of both ends of the floor. Offensively he thrives on broken down plays where he can improvise with the ball. He is an adept offensive rebounder for a guard and thrives in transition as well. Defensively Kaleb is a pest who lives in the passing lanes and converts easy buckets as a result. Kaleb is a well-rounded player who contributes to winning across multiple facets.

Wood Woodward – Rocket City Suns – 2025

Wood Woodward is a 6’5 combo forward who does all the little things. Whether that be making the extra pass, diving for a loose ball, or walling up at the rim, Wood simply contributes to winning basketball. He averaged a double-double on the weekend for a 5-1 team. Wood is at his best offensively when he can secure a defensive rebound and lead the break himself. A very high academic prospect with a 30 ACT score that should have D3’s across the land calling his number after his performance at the Elite 32.
