OTR Hoops: Final Run Sunday Standouts – July 28, 2024
WESLEY CHAPEL, Florida, – The month of July concludes with a final stop in the Sunshine State for the On the Radar Circuit. More than 50 teams from around the region, and even a few from as far away as Wisconsin, stopped in to get a closing bump of exposure at the Final Run. Here are some names that caught our attention from day two.
By: Jonathan Hemingway
Ashton Williams – Cam Sports South – 2025
Williams torched his opponents with some timely shooting in a Sunday afternoon game. His ability to move around screens and fire jumpers off quickly from beyond the arc is a big asset for his team. He also showed some off the dribble skills that complement his perimeter shooting. He uses his body and footwork to create angles to score around defenders.
Tre’Cori Green – Cam Sports South – 2026
Green is a match-up nightmare for defenses. He has the strength and build to be a post player. But his agility and speed make him more like a wing than an interior player. Because of that diversity of skill and athleticism, Green can produce consistently. He even showed some face-up touch from the perimeter, which adds even more confusion for defenders. His rebounding prowess and aggressiveness in open space make him a top performer from the weekend.
Hugo Nicolini – Austin Rivers SE Elite – 2026
Nicolini was one of our favorite players to watch from the event. A smooth, skilled point guard, the junior can control the action as a lead ball handler. He delivers timely passes from the top of the key. Yet at a moment’s notice he can turn the corner with a first step and scoop in lay-ups at awkward angles.
Eli Alhers – Team Speights – 2027
Alhers is a star in the making. With great height and a heady outlook, he plays the game like a veteran. He is skilled enough to get buckets with his jumper, but he rarely forces the issue for himself. We appreciated his willingness to slide pocket passes to cutting teammates through the lane for easy buckets. Alhers is just a sophomore, but he carries himself like a kid who is ready for a collegiate playbook.
Nathan Jackson – Strive 4 Excellence – 2026
Jackson is a stout wing with footwork and aggressiveness. He is a unique prospect in that he can legitimately be featured in isolation sets on the block in 1 on 1 situations. However, he can act as a floor spacer in transition. He showed an impressive jumper from the corner and knocked down several 3-pointers in the game we sat to watch on Sunday.
David Osho – TSE – 2025
Osho is a big man worth keeping tabs on this high school season. With broad shoulders and footwork on the block, he has the frame and athleticism that coaches would love to work with. He showed a jump hook in traffic and timing to snatch rebounds in traffic. He is far from a finished product. He could even turn into a switchable defender that could defend wings, forwards and posts.
Camp Wyatt – Reach Higher Kings – 2025
Wyatt grabbed our attention with his shooting ability on Sunday morning. He is a confident player who is willing to let it fly if the defense relaxes on the perimeter. He acts as a primary handler for his team and will set the offense when necessary. He does most of his damage in scramble situations where the defense loses track of him, and he is able to connect on jumpers or make plays in the gap.
