OTR Hoops: GBCA SE Regional Live – Top Performers – July 3, 2024

The GBCA SE Regional took place this weekend where over 140 different high school programs from across the southeast met under one roof. Hundreds of college coaches were in attendance and a number of offers were handed out. Here, we look at some of the weekend’s top performers.

Tate Darner – 2025 – Santa Fe Catholic (Pictured at Top)

Tate Darner brought his A game to Lakepoint this weekend and won over several college coaches. Darner went for 20+ points in every game and averaged 26.5 PPG on the weekend. The deadly three-point stroke was on display as he was constantly hunting open looks and knocking them down from all over the floor. Darner has great feel as well and sees the game in a way few high school players do. He picked up offers from Boston, USC Upstate, and Chattanooga following the event.

Zach Bleshoy – 2025 – Pope

College coaches came from all over the country to see Zach Bleshoy this weekend and he did not disappoint the crowd of coaches in attendance. He proved to be one of the best scorers in the gym, averaging 27.5 PPG over his 4 games. He can score from the perimeter using his creative handle and shot making abilities. His ability to finish at the rim is where his physical tools really shine. If Bleshoy can improve defensively, he could be a high-major guy when it is all said and done. He added offers from Murray State and Boston on Monday.

DeWayne Brown – 2025 – Hoover

Brown came into the weekend as one of the top prospects on the list and he lived up to the hype. Brown dominated the paint in every game he played. His combination of skill and brute strength makes for a mean interior scoring package. Brown has good footwork and can finish with some soft touch around the paint but he ultimately wants to throw it down with two hands whenever he can. Brown is currently committed to Tennessee.

Hakeem Weems – 2025 – Osborne

Hakeem Weems was a popular name around the coaches’ section as he showcased versatility and long-term upside last weekend. Weems is a skilled stretch-4 that can knock down shots, score from the post, or pose a lob threat in the dunker spot. His athleticism was on full display this weekend as we saw him rise up and throw down multiple highlight dunks in traffic. Several D1 and D2 coaches were in to see Weems over the weekend and his recruitment will likely pick up soon.

Rudy Anderson – 2027 – Norcross

Rudy Anderson continues to make a case for the top 2027 in Georgia and his big weekend at the SE Regional only adds fuel to the fire. Anderson is a do-it-all point guard that can score from all three levels and get his teammates involved in the process. He reads the floor like a seasoned vet and delivers precise passes on time. He’s a strong finisher at the cup too, utilizing a combination of strength and above-the-rim bounce. His offer list is currently up to 6 including Georgia, Auburn, and Georgia Tech.
