OTR Hoops: GBCA SE Regional Standouts – July 3, 2025

Here is a selection of standouts from the GBCA Live Period Session II.

By: Jaron Pierre-Mathurine

Gideon Kamuelya 6’6 F Peachtree Ridge 2026

Always known for his foot work in the post, it was good to see how GK could be effective against true size. Had a stout matchup with Riviera Prep and he showed his range of player and how he can be effective at the next level. Strong midrange presence. Can finish at the rim and through traffic and provide a good stretch option.

Connor Corris 6’7 F/G Windermere Prep 2026

Displays a good blend of size, athleticism, and shooting. Confident shooter who knows his spots on the court well and can play above the rim. Good pick and pop type of player, aggressive on the glass and can contest shots defensively.

Jeremy Jenkins Jr 6’9 F 2027 Riviera Prep

Hands down had the best motor in the gym and as a 2027 prospect has a ceiling that can be scary. He is a head down, attack with intention type of scorer and finishes around the rim at a high level. Gritty defender with a strong presence on the wing and slides his feet well. Ready now frame and again with another year of development it will only boost his stock. Biggest area of improvement will be outside shooting and consistency.

Toni Bryant 6’10 F 2026 Zephyllis Christian

Another player with a ready now frame. The rims at Lake Point felt his presence as he dunked everything with force. Soft touch with a confident and effective baby hook. Strong and big enough to shoot over most defenders but will still need to develop a more well-rounded back to the basket game. Also showed the ability to step out and knock down the 3. Defensively had some emphatic blocks and showed a strong rim protector presence. Fun seeing him take pride on that end as well.

Chris Roberts 6’3 G 2028 Zephyllis Christian

Knocked down some clutch 3s in the matchups watched and showed he can play the role of a reliable shooter. Knew his spots, was confident in his motions and connected form multiple spots on the floor. Tight ball handle, created well off the dribble and showed the ability to get downhill. Shows the tools early.

Kayden Allen 6’5 G 2026 Zephyllis Christian

Once upon a time Ga player, KA game was super effective, consistent and next level. He wasted no time showing the praises and how he affects a matchup. True 3 level scorer with a quick release, he wastes no dribbles or motions in his play. He gave the viewers a poster jam in almost every matchup showing the athleticism and leaving highlights on the weekend. Created well off the dribble and was vocal on both sides of the ball.

Kevin Savage 5’11 G Wheeler 2027

One of the feistiest guards is not just the state but the country. Has an effective one dribble pull up/mid-range game. Has gone up against elite competition for so long you forget he is still one of the younger recruits as well. Has turned up his energy even more defensively, turning him into a true 2-way pg. Runs the offense well, gets his teammates involved and is ultra-competitive at the guard spot.

Donovan Williams 6’2 G 2026 Oak Ridge

Had a monster poster and showed the toughness Coach Reece and Oak Ridge teaches. Strong downhill guard defends hard and has a solid midrange. Sneaky athleticism and can break down defense with ease if they are not careful.

Ahmed Mustapha 6’7 F 2027 Oak Ridge

High motor, deceptive wingspan and good rim protector. Ran the floor hard and converted around the rim at a high rate. Lots of second chance points hounding the boards and strong defensive presence. Underrated player on the weekend.

Jordan Smith 6’6 F/G Oak Ridge 2029

Possess the most potential out of the batch due to size and age. Threw down a few jams and has that frame you look for early. Left fingerprints throughout the matchup and as he continues to mature, get reps up and listen to his coaches, the final product can be dangerous.

Alistair Smaniotto 6’10 F Zephyllis Christian 2026

Displayed good fundamentals, effective passer out of the post and strong rebounder. Was accounted for multiple assists with outlet passes and keeping his head up on possessions. Absorbed contact in the post well, sturdy base, and he bounced off defenders with his thick frame.

Chudier Diew Yak 6’9 F North Browsed Prep 2029

One of the highest upsides I watched, he ran the floor well, had a monster lob finish and showed the ability to guard multiple positions. You can see the youth in his play and can tell he is still new to the game so working on his iq and court awareness will be key. He showed the ability to step out and stretch the floor as well at the 4 spot. He will have to become a lab rat to really see results, but the base, size and potential is there.

Felix Buroz 6’0 G 2026 North Broward Prep

Quick downhill guard who wasted no motion. Strong mid-range game, good footwork, and can score in bunches. Plays quick and has a good understanding of change of pace to stop on the dime and pull up. Balanced guard that plays a mature game and can make plays.

Ronald Clark 5’9 G Impact Christian 2026

Shifty guard with a blazing first step and good change of pace. Understands how to collapse defenses and find the open man and use his size to his advantage on the defensive end causing fits for ball handlers and bigger ball handlers. Excels well in space and showed good mental toughness in win over Woodward Academy.

Frandy Perez 6’5 F/G 2026 Impact Christian

Strong matchup where both teams lacked size, Perez anchored the post and showed the ability to defend the paint along with guarding other positions. In the matchup with Woodward Academy he had about six different back door lobs and was piecing their defense apart and showing off his motor. High iq, good rim runner and has some overseas ties developing in the Dominican Republic

Braydn Elder 6’4 G 2027 Woodward Academy

Younger two-way guard with good size and smooth shooting stroke. Does a good job of getting to the rim and has a strong float game. Can mold into a 3 and D type of player with continued reps and help add that dynamic to this group.

Carter Higdon 6’8 F 2026 Cambridge

I liked his size and the style of play he came with. He took some eyebrow raising shots that shows someone who works on their game and is comfortable with his size. Fundamentally sound, good foot work, comfortable with back to the basket and can pass out of the post well. Sleeper vibes.

Cameron Blackman 5’9 G 2028 Lanier

Cameron played with a lot of confidence for his age. He saw himself as one of the primary options for this group and embraced the role. Tight, crafty handle, he excels at getting to the rim and drawing fouls for easy buckets. As he continues to mature on the court and work on his body, he can start to turn heads sooner than later

Mason Fuentes 6’2 G Riviera Prep 2026

Gritty guard that showed the same edge on both ends of the floor. Plays above the rim in transition creating easy energy plays and has a solid bag for scoring. Comes from a well-coached group and plays with a lot of heart.

Quincy Douby 6’4 F/G Riviera Prep 2027

Liked the potential he flashes and truly has the tools for a 3 and D role. Displays good length, gritty defender and understands his role well as he sometimes came off the bench. Good change of pace player who when hot can torch from beyond the arc and get to the rim. X factor player.

DJ Bembry 6’2 G Lanier 2027

Has made waves before and is showing he’s been in the lab working on his game. He will be looked to as the focal point for Lanier and provides a consistent scoring threat for them. Thick frame, can score in bunches and has a tight handle at the guard spot. They brought in a team with zero seniors, so this is a good time for him to work on being a vocal leader and presence along with the buckets to help this team form an identity.

Jarvis Hayes Jr. 6’4 G Woodward Academy 2027

Like the skills and potential due to his length, athleticism and lineage to the game. Does a good job getting to rim in 3 dribbles or less and shows a quick gather that sees him float to the rim and connect on a lot of high angle lay ins. Strong presence defensively with his wingspan and foot work. He will need to continue to work on his motor and play with more emphasis.
