ORLANDO, Florida –On the Radar Hoops brought their staff and media to Gamepoint Event Center to host the annual Memorial Day Classic. AD Willis – Team Speights 16U – 2027
Willis blends an old-school vibe with a modern skill set. The 6-foot-7 forward, with compression shorts peeking out like UNLV legend Larry Johnson and Team Speights’ bright red jerseys evoking the late-’80s Runnin’ Rebels, catches the eye immediately. While he’s not yet a mirror image of the NBA great, Willis’ potential is undeniable. With an exceptional frame, athleticism, and three-point range, his development is worth tracking closely.
Chris Caldwell – TWU – 2028
Caldwell is just beginning his journey on the grassroots circuit, but we can see that his future is bright. He is an athletic 6-foot-4 (unofficial measurement) wing-forward with versatility and mobility. He produces in the lane with rebounding and paint scoring. He can also impact the game on the perimeter as a defender and outside shooter. We watched him lead his team in scoring on the way to a game high 15 points and a win. Keep tabs on this young man as he matures and adds confidence.
Michael Vilmenay – Dor 5 – 2027
Vilmenay earns a spot on the opening day list with his overall offensive skill set. He grabbed our attention with four first half 3-pointers and then displayed expert ball handling abilities. This combination of skills allows him to play both back court positions. He can run the team’s offense as a steady distributor. Or he can slide the wing and run off screens to pop free for jumpers.
Reece Styles – TWU – 2028
Styles plays the game with energy and enthusiasm. He is a 6-foot-6 frontline player with perimeter ability. He throws his strength and solid frame around to snag rebounds in traffic. His soft touch is not hindered when defenders bump into him in the paint. At the same time, Styles steps out to the top of the key to drain threes and help facilitate the offense. He is an emerging star from the North Atlanta Metro area.
Neo Flores – Showtime Ballers – 2027
Flores plays the game with unusual confidence for an underclassman. Although he plays off the ball primarily in the half-court offense, he seems to step up in key moments to make plays with the ball in his hands for his team. He elevates quickly with his jumper and is accurate with his release. Flores has a natural leadership quality to his game. Teammates seem to gravitate to his energy, which is a sign that his impact is greater than the sum of the individual parts of his game. He should be a target that all schools in Florida and in the Southeast region keep a close eye on in the next 12 months.
Kamron Young – Florida All-Stars – 2027
If we had to list players with the best pull-up jumper in the midrange, Young’s name would likely be in the top spot. He has a smooth and seamless handle that allows him to weave through traffic. His ability to stop and quickly elevate makes him very difficult to contain. There are still areas where Young can grow and develop, but his specific skill set is a rock-solid foundation for growth.
Razor Smith – Team Jordan – 2027
Smith is a promising guard from the state of Florida. His aggressive attitude combined with a smooth skill set makes him an impact player each time he laces up his basketball sneakers. He shot the 3-pointer with clean precision in his team’s opening game. He also is a confident ball handler who can weave between defenders to make plays in the half court.
