OTR Hoops: Standouts from the Carolina Mania – March 31, 2025

A list of standouts from last weekend’s OTR Carolina Mania in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Miles Campbell – Class of 2027 | Upward Stars Upstate

Miles Campbell is a sharp catch-and-shoot threat who stays active in the passing lanes, creating turnovers. He crashes the boards with energy and took over in the second half, scoring 10 straight points to shift the momentum.

Tyriek Jones – Class of 2027 | Upward Stars Pee Dee

Tyriek Jones played with relentless aggression, scoring off the dribble with a smooth pull-up jumper. He stayed locked in on defense, always looking to come up with a steal and spark his team.

Jourdin Mack – Class of 2026 | CLA

Jourdin Mack caught fire from beyond the arc, hitting three straight threes in the first half. He also forced key turnovers that led to transition points and either scored or contributed to the majority of his team’s offense.

Terry Cunningham – Class of 2025 | Fountain Inn Kings

Terry Cunningham was lights out from beyond the arc, knocking down six threes and proving to be un-guardable. He also showed great instincts on defense, always positioning himself perfectly to intercept passes.

Ka’mauri Campbell – Class of 2026 | SC Blue Jays

Ka’mauri Campbell brought relentless defensive energy, blocking shots and grabbing key rebounds. He did all the dirty work that often goes unnoticed, making a major impact without needing the spotlight.

Jyssiah Foster – Class of 2026 | Upward Stars Dawkins

Jyssiah Foster dominated both ends of the court, putting his body on the line to take charges and set the tone defensively. He attacked the rim in traffic to finish strong and made smart passes to keep the offense flowing.

Ali Sannoun – Class of 2026 | Upward Stars Upstate

Ali Sannoun made an immediate impact off the bench, bringing a strong defensive presence with aggressive play. He energized his team on both ends and finished with double-digit points in a standout performance.

Nolan Ericson – Class of 2026 | PSB Elite Barnes 17U

Nolan Ericson has a pure shooting stroke, knocking down multiple threes with confidence. His solid footwork allows him to drive to the basket effectively, and he also assisted on several threes, showcasing his unselfish play and court vision.

Mack Walters – Class of 2026 | PSB Elite Barnes

Mack Walters is a scoring machine, whether it’s pulling up for a jumper or attacking the basket. He hustles for loose rebounds on both ends, blocks shots, and brings all-around effort and energy every time he’s on the floor.

Tanay Kulkarni – Class of 2026 | Georgia Kings

Tanay Kulkarni hit big threes throughout the game and crashed the boards for missed shots. He moved well without the ball to get in position for assists and played with relentless effort, never giving up even when his team was down.

Jayden Ross – Class of 2025 | Anthony Morrow Elite

Jayden Ross has tough handles that allow him to create his own shot with ease. He’s also very active on defense, applying pressure and making plays on both ends of the court.

Abubakar Cham – Class of 2025 | Charlotte Aces

Abubakar Cham bullied the paint on both ends of the floor, using his strength and awareness to dominate inside. When posting up, he made smart decisions—knowing when to finish at the rim and when to kick it out to an open teammate.

Deshawn Coulter – Class of 2026 | Charlotte Aces

Deshawn Coulter is a threat from beyond the arc—give him space, and he’ll make you pay. He also picked up key steals and quickly turned them into points or assists, making an impact on both ends of the floor.

Jah’Marzea Williams – Class of 2026 | Showtime Elite

Jah’Marzea Williams constantly attacked the basket, finishing strong through contact and earning frequent trips to the free throw line. On defense, he clogged the paint and wasn’t afraid to take charges, showing toughness and commitment on both ends.

Trevor Green – Class of 2026 | GA Canes South

Trevor Green was unstoppable in the paint, scoring with ease and forcing defenses to double team him. He also played tough, physical defense, making a strong impact on both ends of the floor.

Kingston Little – Class of 2027 | Showtime Elite

Kingston Little played with relentless aggression, attacking the basket and earning trips to the free throw line. He hustled on defense and delivered in clutch moments by finding the right teammate for timely assists.

David Dixon – Class of 2026 | Upward Stars Upstate

David Dixon came through in the biggest moment, hitting the game-winning buzzer beater to lift his team to a 59-58 victory. He delivered when it counted most, sealing the win with a clutch shot under pressure.

Kevin Brown – Class of 2026 | Upward Stars Pee Dee

Kevin Brown made key plays to keep his team in the fight, showing nonstop hustle on defense and crashing the offensive glass for multiple second-chance points. He also created his own scoring opportunities, making a strong impact on both ends.

Hendel Rivera  | Rising Stars

Hendel Rivera made an impact off the bench by playing the passing lanes and grabbing key steals. He showed great vision, kicking the ball out to open teammates and capitalizing on his scoring opportunities when he took shots.

Sebastian Gurumendi  | Rising Stars

Sebastian Gurumendi has a smooth pull-up jumper and plays with great composure. He never rushes or forces a play, staying in control with the ball in his hands and making smart decisions throughout the game.

Janpaul Rivera  | Rising Stars

Janpaul Rivera plays with high energy and great awareness, knowing exactly when to attack the basket or pull up for a shot. He brings full-court defensive pressure and consistently impacts the game on both ends.

Verdel Ratliff – Class of 2027 | Triple Threat Academy

Verdel Ratliff stayed calm under pressure, reading the defense well while handling the ball. His aggressive play in the second half earned him frequent trips to the free throw line, where he capitalized to keep his team in control.

Amari Melton – Class of 2026 | Triple Threat Academy

Amari Melton was extremely shifty with the ball, breaking down his defender multiple times and finishing strong at the basket. He drew contact on several plays and completed multiple three-point plays, making a big impact offensively.

Gabriel Steinour – Class of 2026 | Triple Threat Academy

Gabriel Steinour was quick on his feet and used excellent footwork to score with ease. He contested numerous shots, grabbed plenty of rebounds, and made his presence felt on both ends of the court.

Jermier Nelson – Class of 2028 | Upward Stars 3SSB ‘28

Jermier Nelson controlled the flow of the game with poise, acting as a true floor general. He focused on creating opportunities for his teammates, prioritizing ball movement over forcing his own shots.

CJ Moore – Class of 2028 | Upward Stars 3SSB ‘28

CJ Moore brought high energy off the bench, providing vocal leadership and intensity. His length made a big defensive impact, leading to blocks and deflections that disrupted the opposing offense.

Daniel Rees – Class of 2026 | South Florida Dawgs

Daniel Rees opened the game with two back-to-back threes right in the defender’s face, setting the tone early. He stayed hot throughout, finishing with a total of nine three-pointers in a lights-out shooting performance.

Fabian McCluntock – Class of 2027 | Upward Stars Upstate

Fabian McCluntock played with high energy, consistently attacking the basket and staying aggressive on the glass. He grabbed multiple offensive rebounds and turned them into valuable second-chance points for his team.

Jacob Gibson – Class of 2029 | Upward Stars

Jacob Gibson was active on both ends of the floor, disrupting passing lanes with steals and keeping his teammates involved offensively. He also knocked down shots with confidence, contributing all-around impact throughout the game.

Isaiah Kirkland – Class of 2029 | Upward Stars

Isaiah Kirkland defended the paint well and moved effectively without the ball. He stayed active on both ends, dominated inside when he had the ball, and consistently got to the free throw line with his aggressive play.

Brayden Glunt – Class of 2029 | Eastside Supersonics 8th

Brayden Glunt facilitated the ball well, showing great court vision and awareness. He consistently set his teammates up for easy buckets, keeping the offense flowing smoothly.

Jordan Lewis – Class of 2029 | Eastside Supersonics

Jordan Lewis dominated the post, drawing double and even triple teams, and made smart decisions by kicking the ball out for assists. His physical play kept him at the free throw line, where he continued to make an impact.

Braylen Hubbard – Class of 2028 | Team Hustle

Braylen Hubbard shoots the ball at a high level and keeps constant pressure on the defense with his offensive skill set. He brings a well-balanced game, contributing effectively on both ends of the court.

Dontay Phillips – Class of 2029 | Upward Stars

Dontay Phillips dominated the second half by crashing the boards, grabbing key steals, and scoring at the basket with ease. His all-around effort helped his team secure the victory down the stretch.

Kaleb Peters – Class of 2028 | Columbia Upward Stars

Kaleb Peters dominated from start to finish, playing a solid and consistent game throughout. He stayed locked in the battle the entire time and made smart decisions when his team needed him most.

Ethan Wiest – Class of 2028 | PSB Elite

Ethan Wiest was one of the best catch-and-shoot players on the floor, showcasing a smooth and quick release. The defense kept leaving him open, and he made them pay by knocking down four threes with confidence.

Will Haunert – Class of 2027 | Upward Stars Pee Dee

Will Haunert stepped up big in the second half, playing tough defense, grabbing key rebounds, and hitting clutch shots. He also forced a few turnovers that helped swing the momentum in his team’s favor.

Ethan Spitler – Class of 2027 | Upward Stars Pee Dee

Ethan Spitler hit some big three-point shots and was active on the glass, crashing the boards on both ends. His effort and timely shooting gave his team a solid boost.

Brighton Lester – Class of 2027 | PSB

Brighton Lester did an excellent job controlling the tempo, keeping the offense under control and flowing. He consistently found the wide-open shooter, delivering easy assists and making smart decisions throughout the game.

Philip Brosseau – Class of 2027 | PSB

Philip Brosseau is a lethal shooter who made the defense pay every time they left him open. With a smooth stroke and consistent accuracy, he couldn’t miss and was a major threat from deep all game.

Corinthian Bowser – Class of 2028 | Upward Stars RH

Corinthian Bowser knocked down big shots both from beyond the perimeter and at the rim. He consistently hit corner threes, making him a reliable scoring threat throughout the game.

Silas Tate – Class of 2028 | Upward Stars RH

Silas Tate came up big down the stretch, making key shots and locking in on defense. His all-around impact helped fuel his team to a blowout victory.

Nate Long – Class of 2029 | CC Elite

Nate Long does all the gritty work that often goes unnoticed, bringing energy and effort on every possession. He also showed his scoring ability, finishing with 12 points and making key plays throughout the game.

Sam Crews – Class of 2029 | CC Elite

Sam Crews was relentlessly crashing the boards, securing key rebounds on both ends. He stayed active with his hands, forcing turnovers, and finished the game with 11 points in a strong all-around performance.

Caleb Davis – Class of 2029 | QC Hurricane

Caleb Davis showed elite potential with his nonstop hustle and impressive court vision, always looking for an open teammate. He also created his own shot with ease and finished with 13 points in standout performance.
