OTR Hoops: Sunday Standouts from the Atlanta Classic – March 31, 2025

Standouts from Sunday of the Atlanta Classic.

By: Jaron Pierre-Mathurine

Anthony Moon | 6’6 F | 2027 | Team Person

Good size and active motor. Plays above the rim, ran the floor well and had that dog mentality. Still a bit raw offensively, he can work on continuing to build a back to the basket game and making himself more assertive offensively. He had some eyebrow raising blocks and athleticism that shows he has the base to build off. He is one to monitor.

Greg Simmons | 6’0 G | 2026 | Team Tatum

We really liked the mark Simmons left. Can tell he has a hoops background to him how he was getting to the rim, effective with minimal dribbles, crafty, and able to finish with both hands. Had some wiggle to his game mix that in with the Tucker grit, he can be an under the radar name that makes waves in due time. Scrappy batch and good introduction to the GS show.

Noah Brady | 6’7 F | 2027 | Tier 2 Elite

The performances Noah put on this weekend can really raise some questions. He already possesses that size you look for at 6’6 6’7 off the wing, but his swiftness and finishing ability was really put on display. He never wavered when attacking the rim and he finished contested lay in transition as if the defense wasn’t there. The more work put in and those lays will slowly turn to dunks and that too will only add to his package. We would like to see more handle work and ability to create off the dribble due to his size, but for him the time is on his side and the potential is showing.

Elijah Tillman | 6’7 F | 2028 | ATL Celtics

If the rims felt anyone this weekend it was Elijah. A monster in the pick n roll he had a plethora of rim rocking finishes off the lob and second chance points. He runs the floor hard and likes to play above the rim. Defensively he swatted anything that came within reach and was a monster in the post. Everything with him was emphatic yet the true post work and defense against thicker bigs will be key to tap into his true bag.

Jeremy “JJ” Winston | 6’2 G | Sewer South

This SS group has been pleasant to watch this circuit behind the play of JJ. He’s a scrapy guard, super athletic, plays above the rim and defends well. With a name in the gridiron, you can see how physicality has helped him on the court with his ability to attack the basket and not shy away from contact. He knows one speed which can be a gift and curse at times so the more he works on finding that balance and other parts of his game to be a complete guard his stock will rise.

Jason “JJ” Brown | 6’6 F | Ga Legacy

JJ continues to make his rounds as one to watch. He had a stout matchup with the Celtics and almost willed a Win off his work. He’s physical in the post, light on his feet, and has a good fundamental post bag to get his game off. He also shows the ability to work off the perimeter and beat his man off the dribble if they decide to step out. His big body will cause fits for opposing defenders and he thrives off the physical matchup being a football guy as well.
