OTR Hoops: Sunday Summer Jam Standouts – April 22, 2025

MARIETTA, Georgia – Summer Jam concluded with a bang on Sunday, showcasing high energy and competitive spirit in the gym. Teams and coaches can now confidently set their sights on the viewing period next weekend. Here is a list of players who proved they are battle-tested.

Terrell James – Showtime Ballers – 2026

James staked his claim as the top guard at the event on Sunday. The competition for that title was steep, with names like Pops Dunson, Zyree Brown, Justin Wise, and others in contention. James blends quickness and savvy to be a consistent scorer on the offensive end. His ability to accelerate, decelerate, and control his body in traffic is elite. The modern game demands a creative and efficient play creator, and James meets those qualifications as well as anyone we saw last weekend.

Bobby Buggs – AE5 – 2026

Coaches should not overlook Buggs this spring. He shares ball-handling and playmaking responsibilities with teammate Tre Keith on AE5. On Sunday afternoon, Buggs proved he can shift a game’s momentum with his play. He has a knack for splitting defenses, scoring in traffic, and delivering timely assists to cutting teammates. Buggs is a levelheaded combo guard poised for an outstanding spring and summer on the circuit.

Kuol Deng – AE5 – 2026

Deng, a 6-11 big man, anchors his team on the defensive end. He protects the rim with length and timing and possesses the physical strength to secure rebounds in traffic. His willingness to run the court as a rim-runner will attract college coaches. Deng’s high-energy attitude is exactly what coaches seek in a frontline player.

LJ Morgan – Gold Elite – 2026

Morgan delivered an outstanding performance for Gold Elite in a win on Sunday afternoon. Handling primary ball-handling duties, he showcased one of the smoothest pull-up jumpers we’ve seen this spring. His ability to navigate ball screens with fluidity and exploit defensive gaps stood out. Morgan’s court sense prevents him from over-penetrating or forcing shots in traffic. The Swainsboro product, a two-sport star, has a bright future ahead.

Jaden McCullough – Georgia Stars – 2028

McCullough, the lone underclassman on this list, earned his spot with his performance on Sunday afternoon. The freshman guard drained threes from all around the arc, often from several feet beyond the line. He finished with six triples, totaling 28 points. Comfortable handling lead guard duties, McCullough puts maximum pressure on defenses. Opponents must extend their pressure to the half-court line, creating gaps for him and his teammates to exploit in the half-court offense.

Chase Dupree – Warner Robins All-Stars – 2026

Dupree is a rising name on the OTR circuit this spring, earning recognition for his consistent scoring and explosive athleticism. He continued that trend last weekend with the All-Stars, regularly posting double-digit points. His ability to streak to the basket and finish with flair always draws attention. With his size, skill, and athleticism, Dupree is a prospect to watch this spring on the OTR circuit.

Ethan Bevis – Powerhouse Bulls – 2026

Bevis embodies the ideal profile for the modern game. At 6-6, he offers the size and length to compete in traffic while possessing the mobility to disrupt on the perimeter. Last weekend, he showcased his range as a perimeter shooter and proved he can finish above the rim. Bevis is an opportunistic slasher, capitalizing on gaps in the half-court offense.
