OTR Hoops: Thanksgiving Showcase Live Updates – November 27, 2024
LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia, – Central Gwinnett High School plays host to the annual Thanksgiving Showcase this afternoon. Here are the top scorers and performers from today’s matchups.
7:30pm Grayson (71) vs. Cedar Grove (49)
After a slow start, the Rams finally got on track and secured a 20-point victory over Cedar Grove. Jacob Wilkins led Grayson with 15 points and Amir Taylor added 14. Caleb Holt and Chris McLavish each scored 12 in the win.
Manny Green led the Saints with 15 points while Keith Gillespie added 11.
6pm Milton (59) vs. Peachtree Ridge (50)
Milton led from tip to buzzer, which included a 11-0 run to start the game. The Lions made it a game in the second half with tough defense and transition offense. Yet in the end, the Eagles had too much depth. Nathan Earl scored ten of his game high 15 points in the first quarter. Dhvanish Vaghela connected on four 3-pointers for 12 points and Jaylon Cole added 10 for coach Allen Whitehart.
The Lions were led by Malik Rideout’s 14 points. DJ Martin (12) and Gideon Kamuelyu (10) also entered double digits.
Woodward Academy (76) vs. Lambert (60)
Lambert kept it close for three and half quarters before the Eagles took control in the final minutes. Jarvis Hayes Jr. seemingly could not miss as he connected on five 3-pointers en route to a 17 point night. Deke Cooper led all scorers with 24 points, which included 19 in the second half. Zac Foster added 16 in the win.
Cam Bland led the Longhorns with 21 points while Will Dopfer scored 17. Kenny LaRue chipped in ten in the Longhorns first loss of the season.
3pm Central Gwinnett (64) vs. Chattahoochee (59)
Senior guard Brayden Holliday led the way for the Black Knights with 18 points. Iziah Sloan added 10 points. Jaylen Edgerton led all scorers with 23 points for the Cougars. Post Kyler Fox added 18 in the loss for Chattahoochee.
1:30pm Tri-Cities (83) vs. Lee County (76)
Tri-Cities found their rhythm and a win this afternoon. Jalan Wingfield scored 18 to lead his team. Junior guard Tre Keith added 17, which included three 3-pointers. Matt Hardrick had a big day with 29 points. Kam Sanders (15) and Brandon Moore (12) also were in double digits for Lee County.
12:00pm Greenforest Academy (77) vs. Riverwood (49)
Greenforest went into halftime down a point but responded with a 24-7 thir quarter and never looked back. Riverwood was missing JR Leonard, which hamstrung their efforts. Orion Taylor led all scorers with 26 points. Bryce Irby (20) and Dallas Stephens (17) both booked double digit efforts in the win. Clinton McCants (14) and Justin Stewart (11) led the way for coach Buck Jenkins.
