OTR Hoops: The Florida Gauntlet Day 2 Standouts – April 13, 2025

THE VILLAGES, Fla.- On The Radar Hoops makes their second trip to the Sunshine State of the season. Some talented prospects were on display on the second full day of the event.

There were dozens of prospects ranging from the Class of 2025-2029. Here is who stood out on Sunday:

2027 6-4 SF Steve Achile (OBG Elite)

Achile is a 6-4 sophomore wing with a long and lanky frame where he did a superb job protecting the rim on the defensive end. Offensively, he brought in a knack of scoring on all three levels, whether off the catch or bounce. He brought in a great feel and understanding of the game where he was playing out on the wing as well as in the post. Look for Achile to have a great leap of potential heading into the summer as well as into his junior season.

 

2026 5-11 PG Jared Carabello (FAA Kings 17U)

The 5-11 sophomore point guard put on an impressive performance dropping 21 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Carabello showed great efficiency, and he continues to prove himself as a reliable scorer with a strong ability to drive to the basket and finish through contact. On the defensive end, he plays with high energy where he is a consistent threat in the passing lanes turning steals into scores at the other end. Carabello is a rising star in the Class of 2026 which could turn some heads heading into the summer as well as his senior season.

 

2027 6-3 CG Pether Castro (Tre Mann Elite)

The 6-3 sophomore combo guard brought a tough and physical presence on the court, Pether Castro brings a gritty edge to both ends of the floor. He’s a versatile combo guard who defends with intensity and thrives in physical matchups. Offensively, he stretches the floor with a smooth and reliable catch-and-shoot game from beyond the arc, making him a constant threat from three-point range, and is a strong two-way contributor and competitor.

 

2027 6-9 PF Jeremy Jenkins (Nightrydas Elite 2027 EYBL)

Jenkins is a 6-9 power forward with a strong knack for throwing down vicious dunks whether it’s off the catch or bounce. He is very active when it comes to being around the rim as well as out on the perimeter where he has grown his game into becoming a versatile threat on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he is a solid rim protector who uses his length and strength above the free-throw line where he can guard multiple positions.

 

2026 6-3 SG Krystian Hobbs (FAA Kings 17U)

Hobbs finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals in a win over Prime Varsity. Hobbs is a knockdown shooter when it comes to scoring off the catch as well as the bounce. He did a good job when it came to pushing the tempo on the offensive end as well as getting his teammates involved. Hobbs is a proven winner who should get a lot of looks and attention as the spring and summer roll on.

 

2027 6-3 SG Bryce Hoffert (Sunshine Elite)

Hoffert is an underrated prospect who lets his game do the talking. On the offensive end, he’s a knockdown shooter with the size and confidence to make an immediate impact.

 

 

2027 6-2 SG Jackson LaMarre (SCE 2027 UA Rise)

LaMarre showed a ton of poise and patience on the offensive end of the floor where he didn’t get phased when opposing guards were blitzing him as he made strong passes to the open shooters. LaMarre also came up clutch down the stretch where he knocked down a couple of huge three-pointers to help lift his team erase a double-digit point comeback over Manatee PAL Thunder.

 

2027 5-11 PG Cory McPherson (Sunshine Elite)

The 5-11 sophomore point guard is a composed floor general with sneaky bounce. McPherson manages the game with poise, consistently makes the right play, and shows a high basketball IQ well beyond his years. As he continues to develop, expect his impact to grow even more.

 

 

2027 5-9 PG Isaiah Owes (Rise and Grind Hoops)

Owes has been a consistent scorer at our events so far, and his Saturday outing was another reminder. Scoring 21 points in his second outing, Owes filled the scoresheet up in various ways. The Rise and Grind prospect has put together a solid month of basketball so far on the circuit.

 

 

2026 6-3 SG Jayden Prosper (Strive 4 Excellence)

The 6-3 junior guard exploded for 41 points, showcasing elite ability to finish at the rim. Prosper has a quick first step which made him a constant threat off the dribble, and he consistently knocked down shots with a high field goal percentage. A dynamic scorer with an all-around offensive arsenal.

 

 

2027 6-5 PF Max Urbanek (Lithia Select)

Urbanek is a versatile power forward with the handles of a guard where he has a smooth handle to his game. On the offensive end, Urbanek had the ability to stretch the floor where he knocked down five 3-pointers as well as threw down some vicious dunks in transition finishing with a game-high 22 points in a wire-to-wire win over Elevate 2027.

 

2027 6-5 SF Anthony Walcott (Nightrydas Elite 2027)

Walcott used his athleticism and frame to his advantage applying constant pressure on the defensive end where he can guard all 94-feet as well as providing a ton of activity in the passing lanes. On the offensive end, he did a great job when it came to finishing at the front of the rim with ease over multiple defenders. Defensively, Walcott used his frame to guard multiple positions as well as apply a ton of pressure in the passing lanes.
