OTR Hoops: The Florida Opening Under-The-Radar Prospects – March 24, 2025

On The Radar Hoops is back in the Sunshine State for The Florida Opening this weekend. We are breaking down some of the top under the radar prospects from over the weekend.
By: Ross Van De Griek
2026 6-8 SF Connor Corris (Team Speights 17U)
The 6-8 junior small forward is a multi-versatile prospect who can play multiple positions on the offensive end of the floor whether he’s out on the wing or in the post. Corris did a great job when it came to using his size and frame to his advantage whether it was on the inside or getting comfortable shooting from the perimeter.
2025 6-1 PG Nelson Marshall (NineStrong Athletics)
The 6-1 senior point guard did a great job when it came to pushing the pace as the primary ball-handler and didn’t get rattled when opposing guards would pressure him. Marshall showed his high IQ where he can make the right reads on whether to drive-and-kick or take the open shot. He also brought a ton of physicality when it came to finishing at the rim where he was unafraid to score through contact.
2026 6-10 PF Mike Broxton Jr. (Team Speights 17U)
Pushing 6-10, Broxton did a good job on the offensive end whether it was using his athleticism to throw down emphatic dunks or protect the glass limiting the opposition to getting second chance scoring opportunities. On the defensive end, Broxton used his physicality when it came to a point in frustrating the opponents as well as using his length when it came to challenging shots at the front of the rim.
2027 6-1 PG Xavier Chase (Harris Athletics)
The 6-1 sophomore point guard is quick and shifty on the offensive end where he is a capable three-level scorer that can play off the bounce and catch. On the defensive end, Chase was applying constant on-the-ball pressure for all 94-feet as well as using his athleticism to jump the passing lanes to force deflections as well as turnovers. Look for Chase to continue improve as the spring and summer roll on just in time for a big-time junior season.
2026 5-11 PG Jayden Prosper (Strive 4 Excellence)
Prosper is a quick-and-competitive point guard who doesn’t get phased when it comes to opposing defenses blitzing him. Offensively, he plays at his own pace where you can’t speed him up or slow him down as he makes the right plays to get his teammates often involved. Defensively, he is very smart when it comes to defending without fouling and is a big presence when it comes to guarding out on the perimeter.
2026 6-2 PG Kyree McKelton (Harris Athletics)
The 6-2 junior guard was one of the best two-way players I saw this weekend at The Florida Opening where he can be a pest on the defensive end as well as score in bunches on the offensive end. McKelton has become more comfortable when he’s running the offense as he has great court vision where he can find open teammates in stride. McKelton has a great feel for the game where he will continue to get better just in time for his senior season.
