OTR Hoops: Tip-Off Classic Live Updates – November 16, 2024

NORCROSS, Georgia, – The annual OTR Tip-Off Classic tips off this afternoon at Norcross High School. Below is a live update on the standouts and results of this afternoon’s matchups.

8pm Norcross (80) vs. Pebblebrook (77)

Connor Teasley led a balanced Blue Devil attack to edge out the Falcons of Pebblebrook. Teasley finished with 20 points, which included four 3-pointers. Four other Norcross players were in double figures as. Miles Clanton (18), Jaron Saulsberry (17), Thomas McBride (13), and Nasir Anderson (10) look to make up a tough line up this season.

Jaylen Humphrey scored 19 points to lead the Falcons. Zyree Brown and Max McNeil added 16 while Jayvion Nurse chipped in 14 for the Falcons who took the Blue Devils to the wire in this game.

6:30pm Grayson (93) vs. Tri-Cities (54)

Grayson controlled this game from tip to buzzer. Caleb Holt and KJ Garris each had 21 points in the win. Jacob Wilkins scored 17, Chris McLavish added 13, and Amir Taylor chipped in 12. The Rams look primed to dominate Class AAAAAA once again this year.

Sean Van Dorn and Jalan Wingfield scored 12 points for Tri Cities. Tre Keith added 11.

5pm Peachtree Ridge (58) vs. Newton (60)

Marcus Smith II converted a coast to coast lay-in at the buzzer to secure a win for the Rams. He finished with a game high 22 points. The lefty lead guard attacked with his right hand and set up his downhill attack with a timely hesitation in/out move at the arc. Bryce Jackson added 19 points in the win, which included four 3-pointers.

Peachtree Ridge was led in scoring by junior guard, Malik Rideout, who finished with 18 points. DJ Martin added 11 in the game. He provided timely buckets in the second half for the Lions.

3:30pm Central Gwinnett (72) vs. St. Pius (70)

This was a game of runs. St. Pius ran out to an early lead in the first quarter. Central Gwinnett dominated the second and third quarters scoring 29 and 22 points respectively. St. Pius outscored the Black Knights in the fourth 15-7, but it would not be enough in the end. Denovan Flowers and Brayden Holiday both scored 16 points for Central. D’Marley Elliott scored a game high 20 points for St. Pius. Senior guard Aiden Portee added 12 points for the Lions.

2pm Berkmar (70) vs. Sequoyah (53)

The Patriots have a new coach and a renewed enthusiasm this year. Coach Witherspoon is bringing his high energy mentality to the Berkmar program, and it looks like the roster has bought in. Senior wing Yousef Othman scored a team high 19 points including three 3-pointers. Christian Braxton added 16 points and new comer Khalil Annuziate scored 10 points.

Sequoyah was led by Brendan Tousignaut (Kennesaw State commit) with 23 points. Matlock Gemberlin added 12 points for the Indians.
