OTR Hoops: Who Wants the Smoke 2025 Prime Performers – May 17, 2024
2025’s that proved at Who Wants the Smoke they deserve a close look from college scouts.
By: Bilal Benjamin
Jackson Robinson | 6’7” | Upward Stars (Pictured Above)
Jackson Robinson, epitomizes the term “paint beast”. His style of play is characterized by physicality and a deliberate pursuit of contact on the court. Robinson’s proficiency around the rim is remarkable, boasting a high shooting percentage. He also demonstrates exceptional defensive prowess by effectively controlling the paint, showcasing his aggressive yet composed approach to the game. Robinson having zero offers is surprising, coaches don’t let him be the one that got away. Hard workers are tough to come by in 2024.
Cameron Dover | 6’7” | Atlanta Timberwolves
Dover is a stretch 4 with a soft touch on his jumper. Dover has good footwork on his post moves and when gathering for his jumper. He has a quick and firm release. He’s a matchup nightmare due to the fact he can shoot over wings and burst past bigs. Dover is a tough cover!
Jett Garnham, | 6’3” | Recruiting Boost
If you absolutely, positively need a bucket give the ball to Jett Garnham. Hailing all the way from Melbourne, Australia, Garnham gets buckets with ease. Inside, outside, off the dribble, or catch and shoot. He also has a knack for getting to the line and controlling the pace of play. Garnham is the scorer your program needs if you’re looking for one.
Joseph Fuller | 5’10” | FEA 17U
Joseph Fuller had his jumper flowing and facilitated the offense in a winning manner. Fuller is heavily on my radar this travel season. He’s been playing exceptionally at the lead guard spot. Finding the open man, shooting in rhythm, and picking up opposing players at half court. Fuller is a name to know.
Noah Holloway | 6’3” | FEA 17U
Noah Holloway is freakishly athletic. His overall talent jumps out at you. He’s an underrated shooting guard that can make an instant impact on a ball club at the next level. Holloway is a three-level scorer with elite quick twitches that he uses to his advantage offensively and defensively. Holloway is a player to track heavily.
Sean Morgan | 6’2” | Chuck Persons
Who Wants The Smoke always brings out top tier talent from Independent teams and Sean Morgan may have been the most impressive of them all. Morgan had a 40-point performance where he had 25 at halftime. He also poured in a 35-point game with 8 threes. He can flat out score anyway possible. He’s a serious threat in transition, as he can stop and pop or go all the way to the cup. Oh, and he’s an efficient scorer too. His buckets seem to come in the flow of the game.
