#OTRHoopsReport: Big South Shootout Recap -Jan. 4, 2018
The Big South Shootout featured many of the top teams in the metro Atlanta area.
Duluth, Ga – The Big South Shootout presented by Duluth High School provided a area teams with a measuring stick before they hit region play in the month of January. It also gave our OTRHoopsReport.com evaluators another chance to watch to see which individuals stood above the rest.
Xavier Bledson – Gainesville (GA) – 2018
In one of the biggest games of the Big South Shootout, Bledson delivered one of the biggest performances by dropping 40 points in a win over Warner Robins. Bledson, a Lincoln Memorial Signee, is a jack of all trades. He has a versatile game, he can post up smaller defenders and shot over the top of them but also beat bigger defenders off the dribble to the basket.

Nahiem Alleyne – Mountain View (GA) – 2019
It didn’t take long for Alleyne to find is groove helping Mountain View pull away from Mt. Bethal in the first half. He showed the ability to make shots from multiple levels and was also capable of scoring slashing to the basket. He does a good job of running the floor in transition, spotting up on the side of dribble penetration or cutting to the basket for the finish.
Jarquez Gilbert – Mt. Bethal (GA) – 2018
This senior guard has a nice combination of getting by you off the dribble and being able to make the perimeter jump shot with range. Gilbert was able to connect on jumpers from multiple levels. He has a good pace and confidence in his game, and never seemed to get rattled.
Austin Johnson – Wheeler (GA) – 2018
Johnson is a physical specimen with a long and athletic build. He is a good athlete who plays well above the rim and has good mobility for a big man. Offensively, he scored the majority of his points off put backs and he did a great job creating second chance opportunities. Johnson played well throughout the course of the game which helped the Wildcats hold off the late run from Duluth.
Austin Johnson was part of a 1-2 combo that made the difference for @WheelerHoops at the @BSouthShootout. The Tenn. State Univ.commit went for 20pts & assisted the game-winning dunk.

Adam Flagler – Duluth (GA) – 2018
Flagler is one of the best shooters in Georgia’s 2018 class. He can score in bunches when he gets into a groove. Duluth battled back in the third quarter due to the success that Flagler had behind the three point stripe. Flagler connected on (5) three pointers finishing for 17 points.

Brenden Tucker – Dacula (GA) – 2019
Tucker is an electric athlete that possesses superior speed, quickness, and bounce. He is so quick off the floor that he often jumps twice before most get up once. He gets most of his points in transition or attacking the rim off the dribble. Tucker got into a zone in the third quarter which helped Dacula pull away from North Clayton, Tucker finished with 22 points.
