#OTRHoopsReport – ELITE 32 REWIND – September 7, 2018

POWDER SPRINGS, Georgia – This week we take a look at the OTR Elite 32 Showcase from this July. This high profile tournament brought out the biggest coaches in the college industry. It also provided a depth of exposure for teams and prospects from the Southeastern Region. Take a look at the coverage below.

Jonathan Hemingway – ELITE 32 RECAP

On the Radar Hoops is an independent basketball tournament company that is able to bring together the best teams from all arenas of the grassroots world. The Elite 32 showcase pitted many of the top of independent travel teams against each other. While also allows those teams the opportunity to cross match against some of the nation’s top shoe sponsored teams. As a result, college coaches from nearly every conference east of the Mississippi River were represented at the Elite 32. This provided unmatched exposure for teams regardless of their affiliation. Players who were projected as low major prospects were able to show their skills and EARN OFFERS from high and mid major colleges following the event.

Teams also had the privilege of playing in front of national media members like Evan Daniels of 247 Sports and Dan McDonald of Rivals.com. With this opportunity, players have the platform to move into the national ranking discussion or even gain higher visibility for post season awards.

The NCAA has drastically changed the landscape of grassroots basketball next July. The shrinking window where college coaches can actually view players will make where you play all the more important. Understanding that the number of teams in a tournament is not always indicative of the quality of exposure. The Elite 32 will provide the same type of visibility next year as it did in 2018.
