OTR Hoops: Florida Opening Standouts from @CourtCred Part II – March 25, 2024

Here is a list of standouts from the The Opening in Florida. By: Kerry Willis Brian Waters 6’1 2026 SG FTL Elite Viewers don’t notice, but players that possess big hands have an advantage on the court. Waters, a smooth strong was effective off the ball in a variety of ways. Those big hands allowed him to switch hands in midair when attacking the rim.  He has a simple handle, not too much flash but the use of quick crossovers kept him in the paint where he finished through contact.  His textbook......

OTR Hoops: Florida Opening Standouts from @CourtCred - March 25, 2024

Here is a list of standouts from the The Opening in Florida. By: Kerry Willis Isaac Timmons 6’5 2025 F Ocala Wildcats In a low scoring contest that found itself in overtime, Timmons was a bright spot with his patience and solid moves in the paint.  He never rushed or forced shots, while being alert enough to feel double teams before they converged on him.  In overtime it was his go-ahead layup after spinning middle that put and kept the Wildcats on top for a victory in the morning session. Emanuel Augustin......

OTR Hoops: The Opening Day 2 Standouts - March 18, 2024

Here is a second edition of standouts from OTR contributor Kerry Willis of Court Cred. Jabari Hall (Osborne HS) 6’5 F Team Scoot Pro 16 Undersized and active forward that caused so much havoc in the paint.  Shot blocking and finishing at the rim is where he excelled. Hall was good at ripping shots down off the glass and pushing the ball to get the break started.  Perimeter game is still in development, but what I like is that he didn’t hesitate to take open shots vs always trying to put the......

OTR Hoops - Standout Performers from The Opening - March 18, 2024

Standout performers from The Opening last weekend in Marietta. By: Kerry Willis Elijah Davis 2026 PG Ga Canes Davis was an absolute ball hawk from the tip off. His quick feet destroyed defenders as he cut off driving lanes in the early morning game. On the offensive end his handle and first step afforded him the ability to make a living in the lane and at the free throw line.  Davis’s vision was a vital part of his game as well, driving baseline on a few occasions only to find cutters and......

OTR Battle at the Beach Friday Night RECAP - May 22, 2023

Battle at the Beach Wesley Chapel, Florida May 19-21, 2023 By: Kerry Willis Cornelious White #4 2025 Born To Impact Elite 16u Active, active, active for the entire game! The motor on this forward never stopped and that is the reason why his production was so high. Loose balls, offensive rebounds, blocked shots you name it White got it done. He can stand to be a better finisher in the paint, but more times than none he snatched his misses and was able to go back up strong and convert at the......

OTR Battle at the Beach Saturday RECAP - May 22, 2023

Battle at the Beach Wesley Chapel, Florida May 19-21, 2023 By: Kerry Willis Tyson Wilson # O 6’1 CG AOI Played the game going downhill hard. When he wasn’t zooming downhill in transition, he was able to use a slick handle to create anything he wanted.  A series of tough, crafty finishes in the lane lead him to a big-time game. Wilson also was smart enough to pull some dimes out the hat after the defense geared up to target him. Christian Brown #11 6’3 SG PSB Elite Robbie Shooter’s shoot, and......
