ALPHARETTA, Georgia, – Milton High School hosted the 5-Star Longhorn Classic last Saturday. The six-game slate provided teams with a late season test before heading into region tournament play. It also featured out of state teams from South Carolina and Florida, which gave coaches the opportunity to gameplan against unfamiliar opponents. Santa Ana, Calif. – One of the more impressive guards from last weekend’s Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei High School had to Johnnie Vassar of San Juan Capistrano, California. This was our first time seeing Vassar since his short stint at Milton High School in Georgia. The 6 foot point guard played his junior season and then transferred to JSerra Catholic after coach David Boyd resigned.
