Unsigned 2023 Dudes to Know – Part 2

ATLANTA, GA – From my recent travels, we’re coming across a slew of still as yet signed 2023’s who can really play, and knowing the changed recruiting climate, while it’s not unusual for these guys to still be available, they will benefit a college roster and likely get scooped in the coming months.

Ansar Osman | 6-6 | SF | South Gwinnett | 2023 (pictured above)

With his kind of length and even more importantly this season his kind of consistent production this is a name to get onto, plays the same suffocating defense as the skilled guards alongside him with the Comets but at 6-6 can give you the kind of slithery wing play that’s in high demand right now, with more weight on the frame can eventually guard down near the basket adding to his value at that end, such an underrated shooter from distance that element together with that varietal drive game and you have the look of a player who translates very well to the college game.

Niko Wilson | 6-0 | CG | Lambert | 2023 

Despite his proven ability to score in bunches throughout his career I happen to love Wilson as a future PG at the college level, plenty good enough ball handler and decision-maker to lead a club, the speed with the ball alone can be a key element in a high-tempo next level program similar to the way Lambert has played for years, the 3-pt shooting is at a really good clip and is a weapon he combines deftly at the HS-level with the pure blow-by ability, his defense isn’t talked about a ton with all the scoring he does but he can be a lockdown guy for you too.

Mykel Williams | 6-1 | PG | Mays | 2023 

Born it seems with the kind of floor general traits you look for especially in a modern game where you need your precision ball-handler and passer (which Williams is) to also get you scoring numbers nightly, has so much poise as he surveys the floor and just gets it as to how to run an offense, be it igniting the break or creating a shot when the offense gets bogged down Williams has a clutch feel to the way he operates and isn’t afraid of the moment, been a fan of his game both travel and HS and it’ll flourish even more on the next level.

Khalon Hudson | 6-5 | SG | Westside-Augusta | 2023 

This one is such a clear case of the new post-Covid and tricky recruiting climate that a player of Hudson’s caliber remains unsigned, off a championship season last year as a junior and a productive travel campaign it’s all about the extra eligibility rule and transfer portal availability that leaves a guy this good still available nearing spring, should you be in the market for a high-schooler with multi-level scoring ability and the grit and toughness to play some hard-nosed forward for you as well take a trip to Augusta and see it for yourself.

Mason Etter | 6-6 | SF | Etowah | 2023 

One can make a similar argument like Hudson’s above when speaking about Etter’s (pictured left, #11) availability this late in the process, he’s a 4-year varsity starter for the Eagles which is an amazing accomplishment at any program and has been a productive one at that, when you watch his tape or more importantly sit in the gym live it’s easy to see all the things Etter does well though perhaps not spectacularly, if a stat sheet filler and ace defender both as a one on one matchup guy and as the best help defender in the ATL-Metro is the type of player you need or like than a stop in Cherokee County is advisable, and by the way he adds high % 3-pt shooting and some real old school and high IQ-effective offense on the inner 2 levels.
