SH Report Spring Showcase – Impression-Makers Pt 1
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – We headed to Lawrenceville for another iteration of one of the best and longest-running exposure camps in the ATL-Metro.
Headed by Kris Watkins, the SH Report Spring Showcase always attracts a strong field of rising juniors and unsigned seniors as well as underclassmen looking to play well before dozens of coaches and some of the city’s best evaluators.

JoJo Sonson | G | Wilson Academy | 2024 (pictured at top)
Right from the jump Sonson was showing off the skillset I have seen develop for the last 2 years, he’s now added bulk to his frame and grown to a more solid 6-2, but he hasn’t lost any quickness or lift as he showed off both on the blow-by while playing up near the rim as a shooting guard, like all Wilson guys he gets after the glass as they are usually undersized for their competitive schedule, joined Wood Elite this spring and that will significantly enhance his visibility, among the better players I saw overall.
Gabe Omoregie | F | Wasatch Academy (UT) | 2023
The former Dacula and Walnut Grove forward was back in town for camp season and continued to use the bullish body and aggressive above the rim game to stand out, plays like a modern-day Charles Barkley at around the same 6-5 as he uses his god-gifted physicality to catch and score in tight and clean the glass, the explosive vertical is still a huge weapon getting out on the break of showing off some one-dribble and thunder in close.
Amari Willis | F | Middle Georgia Prep | 2023
Speaking of thunder the former Pike County forward had one of the more eye-popping sequences of the day with loud dunks on three straight possessions and all of them garnering oohs and aahs from the coaches and scouts looking on, that was the theme for Willis most of the day as his physical gifts are evident at around 6-6, did spend some time around the arc and his release and form looked good but with additional development knocking those down more consistently ups the ante on his contribution potential.
Elijah Davis | G | Archer | 2023
Davis sets up as one of the more intriguing unsigned 2023’s on hand as he caught my eye several times during the Tigers season as well, he’s got good size for a wing and has among the purer strokes I saw all season from a technique standpoint, his length at 6-3 makes him a versatile defender as he moves well and can guard up to 3’s for you and do it with fervor as all Archer guys do, sess the overall game well and doesn’t seem rushed or forced, will be with HYPE Hawks this spring and is one to take some time to look at as a possible steal.
Darrian Joseph | G | Archer | 2024
I assure you it’s never intentional but Archer guys always catch my eye wherever we are around town, a tribute to the program and Head Coach Joel Lecoeuvre and the way his guys consistently get after it defensively and when things open up in camp settings or travel tournaments their offensive gifts have space to work, Joseph is a perfect example as he at 6-2 plays bigger and longer combining excellent vertical ability with long arms and the patented sound Tiger defensive principles, he can handle the ball for you facing up or play off the wing and knock down J’s or drive it hard, could be a summer breakout.
Keith Agran has lived in Georgia since 2011 and joined OTR as a National Evaluator in 2021. He previously scouted for Prep Hoops dating back to 2019, and also spent 3 years as a sports writer at two newspapers in New Jersey.
