OTR Hoops: CP3 Camp 2029 Standouts – August 29, 2025

BERMUDA RUN, N.C. — When it comes to getting an understanding for rising freshmen, the CP3 Rising Stars camp is a must-attend event on the late-summer calendar. Here are some of the 2029 class who turned heads throughout the weekend.
By: Josh Tec
Kenneth Boyd, Guard: A fantastic athlete, Boyd fits into the theme of bouncy guards in attendance. Boyd is explosive off the ground. That leant well to his transition game that saw several above-the-rim highlights. His springy game also served him well when rising for jumpers. He gets good elevation on his shot and finds a lot of success in the mid-range.
Austin Leonard, Guard (Pictured at top): Leonard has been developing a name for himself in the Peach state. After starring at our Breakout camp, he carried that positive momentum over the CP3 Rising Stars camp and played his way into the top-20 2029 game. Leonard has a smooth offensive game and can really score from all levels. His ability to hit shots paired with his 6-foot-4ish frame and plus length bode well for his future as a prospect. Since the camp, Leonard has picked up his first offer from Auburn.
Flory Kuminga, Wing: Younger brother of Jonathan Kuminga, Flory checks the familial athleticism box that scouts value in a prospect. Strong, athletic, he was able to overpower throughout the weekend. He doesn’t look like he’s about to go into his freshman year of high school. He’s not just a hulking physical forward though. Kuminga has more skill than that. He’s a wing with the ability to hit shots and create with the ball in his hands at times. He looks the part of a young player who we’ll hear plenty about over the next few years.
Draydne McDaniel, Wing: The MVP of the rising freshmen, McDaniel had a blend of current production and ceiling for continued development that was unmatched over the weekend. He’s 6-foot-7 with a stronger frame, and he has legitimate wing playmaking skill and feel. What’s most impressive is that he looks like he has room to grow as well. I’d be surprised if he caps out at his current frame. Of course, he needs to refine his game more and keep getting better, but with continued development and no complacency, McDaniel has a chance to be one of the more nationally recognized players in this class.
David Whitaker, Guard: Whitaker had some great moments throughout camp. Another guard with super athleticism. He rose high for dunks and captivated onlookers during the dunk contest. He’s already a player that’s got some buzz in Georgia, but that should continue to grow as he starts getting out on the high school stage.
Chudier Yak, Forward: Yak has a ton of potential. He already looks the part at around 6-foot-7 with fluid athleticism. He had an aggressive mentality all weekend that led to bruised rims. Yak threw down numerous, thunderous dunks whenever he saw a lane open up. Already blessed with the size and athleticism that’ll open plenty of doors for him, Yak is in a good position as a young prospect. He’ll be an interesting one to follow as his game rounds into form.
