OTR Hoops News: Will Stevens commits to Clemson
By: Ross Van De Griek
The Clemson Tigers landed a promising recruit over the weekend, as 6-foot-10 senior power forward Will Stevens, out of Davidson Day High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, pledged his commitment to the Tigers.
Stevens chose the Tigers over Cincinnati, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest, and several others.
Stevens heads into his senior season as a promising big with a ton of upside that remains thin for his size. His ability to make strong passes from the post position has continued to stand out, as well as his ability to gain confidence in growing his shooting range on the offensive end. Defensively, he adds a strong presence when it comes to protecting the paint and getting timely rebounds with his length and athleticism. Standing at 6-foot-10, Stevens’ game is still developing into being a stretch power forward and being a nice force on the glass at the offensive end.
Stevens recruitment took notice during the Adidas 3SSB Circuit last spring when he played for the Upward Stars while shooting 40% from three-point range as well as doing a great job getting to the free throw line, where he shot at a 73% clip. Stevens averaged 13.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 1.6 assists per game during the grassroots season.
Stevens is the first commit for Brad Brownell and the Clemson Tigers in the 2026 recruiting class.
