Summer basketball is in the books. We can start looking ahead to the August camp circuit in the coming weeks. There is time now to reflect on stories and players who stood out this summer but did not receive full attention as the month closed. Today we look back on the notes not yet forgotten from the 16U/15U divisions at the Final Run.

16U Championship Bracket Notes

This week we detailed how Sewer South 16U found their rhythm and took home the OTR Circuit Championship. Although for those who had been paying attention, this would not be a complete shock despite the group’s 12-12 record heading into July. Their talent was obvious, and with a runway of weekends available to find their rhythm, it was not a shock to see them hold the trophy at the end.

And the bracket held true for most of the weekend. HWPO, the division’s top-seeded team with 24 wins heading into the July live periods, found their way into the championship game. The trio of Cameron Blackman, Khaleb Young, and Jeremiah Anderson proved to be formidable.

The surprise of the bracket was TWU, who upset higher-seeded WarriorsLifeElite in the opening round and then knocked out another favorite in Sunshine Elite. Their run ended when they faced Sewer South in the semifinals. Guards Colin Cane and Connor Webb proved they belonged among the best in the division. Both players will suit up for West Forsyth this winter.

15U Championship Bracket Notes

In the 15U division, the Georgia Stunners’ upset of Atlanta Standard opened the entire bracket up. Standard’s deep bench and strong guard play behind Liam McTeer had been the story for most of the year. Unfortunately for them, Joseph Tala proved to be a matchup that no one could handle.

PNP continued to trend as an up-and-coming program in the Metro area. Class of 2030 wing Omar Alleyne is off to a fast start entering high school. Players such as Miles Thornton and Ashton Burt continue to be productive under the guidance of Coach Daryl Alleyne. Kamani Hollis also had a solid weekend with PNP and should be a prospect of note with East Forsyth. His toughness and versatility were noticed at the SHR Showcase back in June. Here are his highlights:

Twelve Time is a promising program created by Ja Morant and his family. They have put together a collection of players that played well together and showed individual talent in the process. Chubb Skinner earned a lot of praise during the spring for his playmaking abilities. Owen Veihman gained momentum as the year progressed as a perimeter shooter and scorer in traffic. Also, 6-foot-9 forward Kingsley Ojukwu emerged as a new name to watch heading into the school season.

Notable Prospects from the Final Run

Bleu Lewis – S.M.A.S.H. PRO – 2028

Lewis showed his consistent shot-making abilities in late July. He is one of the best point guards that we have watched this year who can balance distribution with getting his own jumper off. He will suit up for the Grayson Rams this winter.

Kyson Wilmot – Tennessee Panthers – 2028

Another ball handler who had a strong outing at the Final Run was Wilmot from Nashville, Tennessee. Few players blended the confidence, strength, and ability to shift gears as well as Wilmot demonstrated. He showed promise as a distributor and can get a bucket when his team calls upon him.

Dylan Lemoine – Sunshine Elite – 2029

Lemoine is definitely a player that should not be forgotten coming out of July. He is a well-built forward who has springs like a wing. We saw him flush a number of dunks in the paint. His blend of strength, athleticism, and shot-making ability makes him one of the top 2029s that we have evaluated this spring.

Jeremiah Galloway – Sewer South – 2028

Sewer South featured a strong backcourt in Kamari Kilgore and Jaden Johnson. However, Galloway should not be left out of the conversation. He is a 6-foot-4 wing with a long wingspan and checks the boxes across the board in terms of production. He is poised for a big year at Centennial High School this winter.

Damon Flint – Everything Earned Elite – 2029

Flint is a guard who consistently earned mentions across the spring and into the summer. He is a competitive guard who gets buckets. He will team up with Omar Alleyne (mentioned above) at Dacula this season.

Here is what Kyle Sandy had to say about his game: Flint is an explosive wired-to-score guard. Loves to breakdown his man with hesitation crossovers. Finishes with both hands. Shifty euro in traffic. High energy stat sheet stuffer.
