OTR Hoops News: Four-Star Small Forward Makes College Decision

Indiana head coach Darian DeVries has landed another commitment in the 2026 class, as four-star small forward Trevor Manhertz announced his commitment to the Hoosiers on Wednesday. Manhertz becomes the third Hoosier commit in this year’s recruiting class as he joins Bishop McNamara (Maryland) combo guard Prince Alexander-Moody and Bella Vista Prep (Arizona) small forward Vaughn Karvala.

Manhertz is a 6-foot-9 wing out of Christ School (North Carolina), where he is known as a long-armed wing and a lethal shooter on the offensive end, where he averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals per game this season for the Greenies. He shot 41% from behind the arc this season and made nearly two three-pointers per game.

In a recent game back on January 19, Manhertz went off for a game-high 30 points, where he went 8-for-12 from behind the arc to help lead Christ School to a 78-58 win over Iowa United at the Flyin’ to the Hoop Classic in Dayton, Ohio, where Indiana assistant coach Rod Clark was in attendance.

During the Grassroots season, Manhertz played for Garner Road Basketball Club in the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, where he averaged nearly 15 points per game and shot 50% from the field while playing a year up on their 17U squad.

Manhertz can impact the game in a variety of ways with his bounce and length, causing him to be a tough mismatch on the defensive end of the floor. His length also makes him dangerous and effective in the passing lanes, with the ability to get deflections, forcing turnovers, and creating transition opportunities. On offense, he can be efficient in pick-and-roll situations as well as a lob threat, as he has strong cutting mechanics.
