On the Radar Hoops events bring together many of the best independent teams in the Southeast annually. This gives our staff a chance to track Florida players whose work shows up on the independent circuit first.

Today we take a closer look at a few 2028-29 players from Florida who showed up in our notes and look ready for a bigger high school season.

Daviss Jones – Sickles High School (Tampa, Florida) – 2028

Jones is a very good athlete, and that is where the conversation about his game should start. The 6-foot-7 forward has mobility and agility that most kids his size do not have, and he is a multi-sport standout who won a high jump title as a sophomore. He is more than an athlete on the floor, however, because he can shoot the 3-pointer and attack the rim off the dribble. College coaches should take the upside seriously. Expect him to play a prominent role for the Gryphons.

Omar Nicholson – Sickles High School (Tampa, Florida) – 2028

Nicholson joins Jones at Sickles this winter. He has excelled in sports other than basketball and carries a high GPA. He earned a reputation on the OTR Circuit as a lockdown defender, but he began to show more offense as the spring and summer wore on. The 6-foot-3 guard is a two-way player who should help Sickles on both ends.

Bryan Desgrottes – St. Lucie High School (Port St. Lucie, Florida) – 2028

Desgrottes has real upside, and our staff saw it at the Power 24 this summer. He is a long, rangy 6-foot-5 guard who finishes in transition, and he also showed lead-guard skill at the top of the key. That mix of length and ball skill is why his name is bookmarked for another look as the season moves along.

Anton Oskarsson – Lake Highland Prep (Orlando, Florida) – 2029

Oskarsson earned early praise from the OTR staff as a standout in the 15U division. Ross Van De Griek noted his ability to score at every level and run the offense as a point guard, and his travel coach also pointed to him as a strong positional defender. He comes from a basketball family, and his older brother plays in college. The expectation is that Anton keeps moving on that same track.

Troy ‘Uno’ Reddin – Flagler Palm Coast High School (Palm Coast, Florida) – 2029

Flagler United earned praise from several OTR evaluators this summer. Joel Hillsman pointed out how the program played together with unselfish, fundamental basketball at a spring event. One of the names that kept coming up was Reddin, a 5-foot-10 lefty point guard. He is quick and hard to contain with the ball, and he is comfortable using either hand to attack or finish.

Anthony Brown – Menendez High School (St. Augustine, Florida) – 2028

Brown grinded all year on the OTR Circuit with Flagler United. He is a lefty who stays active and can score in a few different ways, and he backs up that confidence with production. We noted how well he works away from the ball, cutting off screens and finishing in traffic. The question now is whether he can carry that spring and summer momentum into the winter months.

Jaris Anacreon – Coral Glades High School (Coral Springs, Florida) – 2028

Anacreon was one of the top performers on the 16U circuit with Team Gold Coast. He has length and a versatile skill set. He can lead the break as a playmaker, mix it up in the lane as a finisher or rebounder, and shoot the 3-pointer. That combination made him one of the more complete prospects we tracked this spring. He will play this season for Coach Stefan Whittingham and the Jaguars.
