Five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt announced his commitment on ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday.

Caleb Holt, A five-star shooting guard out of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, announced he has committed to the Arizona Wildcats. Holt made the announcement with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday morning.

The 6-foot-5 senior chose the Wildcats over four finalists, including Alabama, Kentucky, Houston, and Providence.

Holt becomes the second commit for Tommy Lloyd and the Arizona Wildcats for the upcoming senior class, where he is joined by four-star shooting guard Cameron Holmes, who attends Millennium High School in Goodyear, Arizona.

Lloyd and the Arizona Wildcats currently enter the Big 12 Tournament ranked No. 2 in the country in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll, where they emerge as a heavy favorite to win the conference and arguably one of the favorites to cut down the nets in the National Championship next month in Indianapolis.

Holt is an elite two-way player who plays with a competitive mindset, toughness, and is capable of playing multiple positions on the offensive end. He also brings a combination skillset of length, strength, athleticism, and plays with a ton of confidence on both ends of the floor. He also has an elite wingspan of 6-feet, 9-inches, while adding great perimeter size as well. On offense, he is an efficient finisher when attacking downhill at the rim, as well as unafraid when it comes to absorbing contact and getting to the free-throw line, where he shoots 82% from the charity stripe. On defense, he adds a ton of physical tools where he can guard positions 1 through 3, play above the rim, and guard out on the perimeter. He brings great anticipation when it comes to rebounding from the guard position (Averaged 7.4 rebounds per game) and is smart when it comes to pressuring the passing lanes, where he can get steals (Averaged 2.5 steals per game), which led to scores on the other end. His ability to make an immediate impact will be intriguing to watch as he will likely be replacing Brayden Burries on the roster next season.
