Last week, class of 2026 forward Jaylin Sweat committed to West Georgia. He ran with Gold Elite on the OTR Circuit and will compete with Bradwell Institute for his senior year.
He is a 6-foot-7 left-handed forward and is noted for his athleticism and versatility. Here is what Kyle Sandy had to say about Sweat’s game from the Atlanta Classic this March:
I appreciated how hard Jaylin played this week, standing out as a stalwart for Gold Elite inside. The stretchy forward can attack on the perimeter and hit jumpers with his left-handed release, but his top moments came when he showcased his explosiveness at the rim with monster slams. Jaylin had three momentum building dunks in a 59-51 loss to Atlanta Xpress 2027. He ran the floor hard and was a threat to catch alley oops, his biggest highlight an oop out of a baseline out of bounds set. He finished with 13 points in the game.
His club coach JaQuez Motley echoed the sentiment about Sweat’s motor and no-nonsense attitude:
Jaylin has an old school approach to the game where being the best matters. He has the potential to be an impact player on the next level.
The modern game puts a premium on players like Sweat. He is a player with energy, athleticism and the ability to impact from end to end on the floor. Check highlights courtesy of Kris Watkins below:
