OTR Hoops: Elite 32 Recap – July 15, 2025

A selection of standouts from OTR Elite 32 last weekend.

Kaden Hibbert | Class of 2028 GA Stunners | South Paulding High School

Kaden Hibbert is a true two-way player who can score at all four levels—beyond the arc, mid-range, at the rim, and from the free throw line. His aggressive drives through the paint forced the defense to collapse, allowing him to kick out to open teammates for easy assists. He constantly pushed the pace in transition and made his presence felt on defense, forcing turnovers and tough shot selections from the opposition.

Dawson Homer | Class of 2027 Comets Elite | Holdingford High School Dawson

Homer stayed on the attack all game, constantly putting pressure on the defense. He didn’t settle for jump shots, instead scoring inside and racking up multiple second-chance points with his relentless effort. As the leading scorer for the entire game, Homer was simply unstoppable and proved to be a dominant offensive force from start to finish.

Geonnye Bennett | Class of 2027 Old Gold | Morgan Park High School

Geonnye Bennett was one of the best floor generals of the weekend, playing with poise and control. He never forced bad shots or passes, instead penetrating the defense and consistently finding the open man for the assist. Quick, strong, and athletic for his size, his style of play is reminiscent of a young Russell Westbrook. Bennett capped off his strong showing by picking up his first Division II offer from Clark Atlanta University.

Brighton Lester | Class of 2027 PSB Elite Dorsey OTR | Palisades High School

Brighton Lester plays with a calculated pace, patiently reading the defense and observing movement before deciding whether to drive to the basket or pull up for a shot. His poise and decision-making make him a smart and reliable offensive weapon. Matys Michee – Class of 2026 | Team Skywalker Grey (Paris, France) | Sunrise Christian Academy Matys Michee was simply unstoppable on the offensive end. He lit it up from beyond the arc, knocking down shot after shot and finishing the game with six made threes. Not only was he deadly from deep, but he also attacked the basket with strength, converting tough layups through contact. When defenses collapsed on him, Michee showed his unselfishness by dishing out assists to open teammates. He led his team in both points and assists, putting together a complete performance that showcased his elite scoring and playmaking ability.

Keyaun Martin – Class of 2026 | Team Buckets | SFBA Trinity Prep

Keyaun Martin’s athleticism makes him a dominant force on both ends of the floor. He attacks the basket with ease, showing versatility by knocking down shots from the outside and throwing down powerful dunks in traffic. Defensively, he’s fearless—willing to sacrifice his body to take charges and change momentum. His rebounding presence is elite, cleaning the glass like a seasoned veteran and giving his team second-chance opportunities every time down the court.

Landon VanPelt – Class of 2026 | Missouri Phenom | Oak Park (Kansas City, MO)

Landon VanPelt is very quick and mobile on his feet, making him a versatile defender who can guard both inside and beyond the perimeter. He uses his body well to score through contact in the paint and doesn’t shy away from physical play. His aggressive drives to the basket often put him on the free throw line, where he capitalizes on opportunities. VanPelt’s two-way presence adds great value to his squad.

Quintin Tookes – Class of 2025 | Path Hoops OTR | Woodward Academy

Quintin Tookes is a quick, shifty guard who excels in transition, wasting no time getting downhill toward the basket. He creates separation with ease and is dangerous with his pull-up jumper or shots off the dribble. His burst and ball control make him a tough cover for any defender. Tookes consistently finds ways to get a bucket, making him one of the more dynamic offensive threats on the floor.

Mach Mach – Class of 2026 | Path Hoops OTR | Experience Academy 

Mach Mach makes the defense play at his pace with his calm yet confident demeanor. A skilled ball handler, he gets to the basket with ease and breaks down defenders with his quick first step. His great court vision allows him to find open teammates in tight windows, making him a dual threat as both a scorer and facilitator. This marks his second outstanding performance of the event and earns him his second write-up, solidifying his consistency and dominance on the court.

Cayden Richardson – Class of 2026 | ABC Spotlight Red 16U | Rio Rancho High School 

Cayden Richardson brings a relentless motor to the game, fighting for every rebound on both ends of the floor. His mid-range jumper is deadly, making him a consistent scoring threat from that area. On defense, he excels with his high activity level, especially when disrupting plays in the passing lanes. His ability to impact the game with energy, effort, and skill makes him a vital piece of the team’s success.

Brycen Bowie – Class of 2027 | ABC Spotlight Red 16U | V. Sue Cleveland High School 

Brycen Bowie continues to impress with his second standout performance of the day. He constantly finds ways to get open without the ball, making himself a consistent scoring option. He can efficiently shoot off the dribble and has a smooth, reliable three-point shot that keeps defenses honest. His ability to make tight, accurate passes adds another layer to his offensive skillset. Bowie’s overall court awareness and ability to stretch the floor make him a valuable asset to his team.

Keenan Poulsen – Class of 2028 | VWBA Elite | Bishop Miege High School

Keenan Poulsen was a major threat from beyond the arc, knocking down five three-pointers and making it tough for defenders to contain him. Even when he wasn’t scoring, he made his presence felt by getting his teammates involved and keeping the offense flowing. But his impact didn’t stop there—Poulsen brought just as much toughness on the defensive end, proving to be a complete two-way player.

Elijah Gibson – Class of 2026 | Team Buckets | Harker Heights

Elijah Gibson is a gifted scorer with a tough midrange and deep three-point game. What makes him special is his ability to create his own shot in tight spaces—his smooth turnaround midrange jumper was one of the highlights of the weekend. He makes difficult shots look effortless with a natural scoring rhythm that’s hard to teach. On the defensive end, he brings the same aggressive energy, locking up opponents and making life hard for ball handlers. Gibson is a complete two-way player who impacts every possession.

Eli Davis – Class of 2026 | Northwest Drip 17u Adidas | Bonney Lake High School 

Eli Davis is a versatile force who can stretch the floor on offense and dominate in the paint. He can step outside the three-point line and knock down shots with confidence, while also finishing strong under the basket. His athleticism and speed allow him to guard all five positions effectively, making him a defensive asset. Davis’s rebounding ability and two-way impact make him one of the most valuable players on the court.

Elijah Curtis – Class of 2028 | VWBA | Rockhurst High School

Elijah Curtis brought high energy and intensity on the defensive end, staying active on every possession. He forced several key turnovers that led to easy transition points for his team. Curtis never shied away from contact, confidently driving to the basket and finishing through traffic. His physicality and toughness set the tone for VWBA, making him a crucial part of their success.

Jackson Golden – Class of 2028 | MidPro Academy | Mahomet-Seymour High School

Jackson Golden attacked the basket aggressively and finished through contact, showing no hesitation when it came to scoring inside. He wasn’t afraid to crash the boards either, battling in traffic to pull down key rebounds for his team. His toughness and willingness to do the dirty work made a major difference on both ends of the court. Golden’s physical presence and consistent hustle helped fuel MidPro Academy’s momentum throughout the game.

Tremaine Alford – Class of 2028 | Greater Than Academy OTR | Kell High School

Tremaine Alford is the definition of a true point guard, consistently making high-level passes to his teammates, including no-look dimes that kept the defense guessing. He finishes around the rim with ease, even through contact, showing poise and strength. His elite ball-handling ability allows him to break down defenders and control the tempo of the game. Alford is a floor general with a high ceiling and a mature approach to running the offense

Brendan Barrett – Class of 2028 | VWBA Elite, Free State High School

Brendan Barrett moves the ball exceptionally well and made some impressive passes mid-air that led directly to points. He has a knack for getting to his spots and scoring efficiently. His court vision stands out, consistently finding the open man in tight situations.

Jayden Varpness – Class of 2028 | Tennessee Marathon, Donelson Christian Academy

Jayden Varpness can score at will, using his skillset to keep defenders on their heels. He has a smooth step-back jumper beyond the arc and can aggressively drive to the basket to finish through contact. His versatility as a scorer makes him a constant threat on the court.

Jashon Morinia – Class of 2029 | ABC Spotlight, ABC Prep 

Jashon Morinia was relentless on defense, making the offense earn everything on every possession. He bullied his way to the basket for multiple and-ones and made smart passes to open teammates. He also went on an impressive 8-0 run by himself, scoring all 8 points and shifting the momentum. One of the most talented guards I have seen play today!

Jarvis Williams – Class of 2028 | Warner Robins All Stars, Central High School

Jarvis Williams knocked down multiple threes—even when tightly contested—it didn’t matter, he still buried them. He can get to the basket with ease, making him a dual scoring threat. He’s like a silent assassin on the court, quietly putting up buckets and making a big impact.

Jayon Everett‑Gray – Class of 2028 | Florida Pro, Miami Norland

Jayon is lethal from beyond the arc, knocking down four big 3’s with ice-cold precision—leaving defenders no choice but to chase. His off-ball movement and catch‑and‑shoot timing make him a constant threat whenever the defense relaxes. On top of his scoring prowess, he’s a willing playmaker—if left open, he’ll punish you, and if doubled, he’s ready to find the open teammate.

Greg Dauer – Class of 2028 | OTP NXT 15U | Sarasota High School

Greg Dauer was unstoppable for most of the game, constantly making his presence felt on both ends. He grabbed a high number of rebounds, converting many into second chance points. His agility for his size made him tough to contain inside.

Karon Plummer – Class of 2028 | Warner Robins All Stars Black OTR | Houston County High School

Karon Plummer plays with strength and physicality, especially when attacking the rim. He excels at securing rebounds on both ends of the floor, using his frame and hustle to gain position. His toughness makes him a consistent impact player in the paint.

Isaac Sowemimo – Class of 2028 | FEA OTR | Harrison High School

Isaac Sowemimo is a prolific scorer who can put up points on all three levels with ease. His ability to draw contact consistently kept him at the free throw line throughout the game. He’s a reliable offensive weapon who knows how to get buckets in a variety of ways.
