A list of top performers from Friday’s action at Run for the Cup.

2026 6-2 G Demari Bailey – Team Forrest – Griffin

College coaches need to touch base with Demari Bailey, an All-Region performer out of Griffin. Bailey was fantastic on Friday night, pouring in 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in a 57-56 win over Atlanta Xpress Orange. Bailey is a smooth athlete, an agile guard that excels at pushing the tempo after collecting rebounds. Demari has good size on the perimeter and puts it to even better use playing with a high motor. In transition he can go coast-to-coast with the intent to dunk on defenders, or he can pull-up on a dime to sink the mid-range jumper. Demari scored from all levels, hitting two threes, two mid-range pull-ups, scoring with his floater and converting an And-1 drive with his left hand. While Bailey dumped in points, he also found time to distribute at a high level off the dribble, adept at dishing off once the defense tried to collapse. Demari has all the traits of a stock-riser that could climb up recruiting boards over the summer and into his senior season.

2026 6-2 W Bryson Bigsby & Brandon Bigsby – Atlanta Xpress Orange – Columbia

The twins both play a similar game. They play extremely hard on both ends of the floor and use their physicality to overpower opponents. Both are seemingly positionless players, capable of playing either outside or inside. They have the lateral quickness to defend on-ball and do a great job of limiting air space. They play off two feet in the paint and can play a little bully-ball when attacking from 10-feet and in. Bryson went 6-7 from the foul line to finish with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal against Team Forrest while Brandon chipped in 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.

2027 5-11 G Denilson Torres – Team Person OTR – Duluth

A recent reclass, Torres looked sharp in a 66-51 win over SDA OTR posting 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Denilson was quick to diagnose plays, showcasing a nose for the ball as he tracked down rebounds and created offense off the dribble. Torres sank three three-pointers, two from the corners and one off a pull-up.

2027 6-7 F Anthony Moon – Team Person OTR – Pebblebrook

Moon may be slender but he is a difference maker in the paint. Anthony has stretch capabilities but on Friday most of his damage came down low looking to dunk whenever he received a dump off. Anthony is quick off the ground and is fast with the ball, helping start the break numerous times. He sank a jumper from the high post, tipped in a miss and had another putback as he corralled 8 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 1 block against SDA OTR.

2027 6-4 W Eric Thornton – SDA OTR – Woodland-Stockbridge

Thornton nearly led a huge comeback before SDA OTR ran out of gas against Team Person OTR. The high-energy 6-foot-4 wing scored 15 points after halftime, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Eric was a menace around the rim. His springiness led to offensive rebounds which subsequently turned into trips to the foul line. Eric went 10-12 from the charity stripe and saw three of his four field goals come by running the floor with his last hoop a three from the top of the key. Thornton’s activity level is one of his calling cards.

2027 5-11 PG Justin Simmons – GA Canes OTR – Union Grove

In a 30-point win, Justin Simmons was the catalyst as he was in the middle of everything recording 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Simmons used his quickness and court vision to be a table setter, getting others involved. He scored seven points from the field in the first half before going 7-8 from the foul line in the second half. Justin’s aggressive defense helped set the tone as the Canes picked up 14 steals as a team.

2027 6-2 G Khalil Prather – Atlanta Xpress Orange – East Paulding

Khalil was a bright spot for the Xpress. The lanky guard has a knack for scoring. He’s crafty on drives, getting to the rim before slowing up in mid-air as he feels defenders behind him, baiting them into fouls. Prather scored two And-1s and drained a pair of threes, posting 15 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. He has a chance to steadily emerge as a go-to guy for East Paulding over his final two seasons.
