OTR Hoops: Halloween Mania RECAP – October 27, 2025

The Seminole Sports Academy played hosts to On the Radar’s Halloween Mania event in Longwood, Florida. The weekend was filled with talented middle school and high school hoopers. Here’s ten prospects who made a name for themselves before the start of the scholastic basketball season.
By: Allen Pettigrew Jr.
Will Gonzalez, BCAT, 2030
Gonzalez was one of the best guards in attendance regardless of age. He’s a savvy lead ball handler who balances scoring and playmaking like he’s done for years. Gonzalez is a three-level scorer with a sneaky athletic burst. He has an incredible feel for the game as an eighth grader.
King Josiah, SWFL Icebreakers, 2030
Josiah looked like a natural with the ball in his hands. Everything he does from his scoring to playmaking is downhill. He has an incredible motor while being one of the best athletes in his class at the event. He’s a slick ball handler who puts a ton of pressure on the rim. He plays with a pace and finishing package beyond his years.
Brandon Alston, SWFL Icebreakers, 2030
Alston was one of the most competitive players through the weekend. He’s an aggressive lead guard who gets to his spots and scores in clutch moments. Despite being a smaller guard he’s a feisty on ball defender. Alston is a dog on both ends who dictates the game when he’s on the floor.
Cameron Nelson, SWFL Icebreakers, 2030
Nelson was one of the most physically developed ballers at the event. His game grew as the weekend went on. By the championship round the physicality and burgeoning athleticism were on display. He runs the floor, cleans up offensive glass, and rebounds well in his area.
Junior Fernandez, Concrete Basketball, 2029
If you’re looking for scoring guard, this incoming freshman fits the build. He’s about average freshman guard height but comes into the varsity ranks with a well-developed frame. He’s a quick isolation scorer who doesn’t take his team out of the offense. He’s a crafty ball handler who uses his strength to finish through contact and convert and1s.
Berto Rodriguez, Worldwide Soldiers, 2029
Rodriguez has what I like to call an elite movement pattern. That phrase is reserved for ball handlers who attack angles with pace that few can replicate. Rodriguez combined that with a high IQ to become one of the most entertaining guards of the weekend. He’s a downhill scorer with quickness and handles to get wherever he wants. Rodriguez is a sneaky athlete who flashed some vertical pop and speed throughout the weekend.
Jasiah Bolli, 2easy elite, 2032
It is rare you find an 11-year-old with this much feel for off ball scoring. Bolli does the little things like running the floor and maintaining spacing. Her confusion shooting the high school three making at least one shot beyond the arc a game and as many as three in his best games. He has great scoring instincts while playing within the offense. He is very decisive with the ball in his hands, and he doesn’t shy away from contact.
Erick Rodriguez Perez, Kissimmee All-stars, 2028
There are some players who have such a high feel for the game they don’t look like they’re trying until something shocking happens. That was Perez until he started throwing some ridiculous outlet passes. The lead guard plays under control and constantly scans the floor for the open man. His confidence oozes out with every full court dime or the needless he threads in transition.
Xavier Ellison, Seminole Hoops, 2029
As far as athletic slashers go Ellison was at the top of his game this weekend. The 6’2 wing wastes no time giving a defender a move that sets him up to finish around the rim. He’s creating contact on his drives and maintains the balance to score against said contact. While productive Ellison has a good deal of upside with his length, growing athleticism, physicality, and nose for drawing fouls.
Ruot Riak Let, Worldwide soldiers, 2028
Riak Let has two things you cannot teach: a 6’10 frame and ridiculous length. The first game I watched his mobility and size stuck out. In the next game there was a more relaxed setting, and the sophomore was showing off the total package. For his size he has a smooth handle in the transition game. In addition to his length and shot blocking the best aspect of his game may be his ball tracking. His game will be unlocked on both ends as he adds strength and becomes comfortable with contact.
