OTR Hoops News: 2026 6-foot-3 Shooting Guard Mason Fuentes

Three-star shooting guard Mason Fuentes announced he has committed to Stetson University on Wednesday. Fuentes chose the Hatters over Albany, Boston University, Bradley, Jacksonville, Georgia Southern, Oklahoma State, Radford, South Florida, Stanford, Toledo, and Wake Forest.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard currently attends Riviera Prep in Miami, Florida, where he has won three consecutive state championships with the Bulldogs and is currently the heavy favorite to win a fourth consecutive title this season.

Fuentes plays alongside his younger brother, Myles, on both his high school and AAU team, where they played for AllBall Elite, which is owned and operated by their father (Jose).

During his junior season, Fuentes averaged 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Bulldogs, who finished with a 21-10 record.

Fuentes is one of the most underrated bucket getters, not just in the state of Florida, but on a nationally ranked level, who can score off the catch and bounce at a high level. He is also a true floor general with excellent court vision, where he can make strong reads of opposing defenses and is an excellent passer when it comes to playing on the move.

In addition to winning a state championship last season, Fuentes also took home the Miami-Dade County Player of the Year and was an honorable mention to the Class 2A All-State Team.

Fuentes becomes the second Stetson commit for the 2026 recruiting cycle, where he joins North Oconee’s Banks Pourchier, who committed to the Hatters last month.
