OTR Hoops News: 4-star Josh Irving Center commits to Texas A&M
By: Ross Van De Griek
Four-star senior center Josh Irving announced on CBS Sports HQ, he will be committing to join Bucky McMillan and the Texas A&M Aggies on Thursday. Irving chose the Aggies over Kentucky and Louisville.
The 6-foot-11 senior currently attends Pasadena High School in Pasadena, California, located roughly 10 miles northeast of Los Angeles. He also plays for Team CPSA on the PRO16 League circuit, where he was a focal point as he averaged 8.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game while shooting 57.7% from the field, 38.5% from behind the three-point line, and 76% from the free throw line.
Irving has shown signs of high potential and is a lengthy forward who runs the floor exceptionally well for his size. He is an active and tenacious rebounder on both ends of the floor, where he can be a difference maker on the defensive end. On offense, he has strong intangibles of making plays around the basket as well as growing confidence in becoming a vital three-level scoring threat. His footwork has also shown improvement, and he is getting a natural feel for the game as a stretch power forward. His length and versatility allow him to be a consistent threat where he can play above the rim as well as guard out on the perimeter.
Irving becomes the second commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle, joining Prince George’s Christian Academy (Maryland) four-star combo guard Neiko Mundey, who committed to the Aggies last month.
