OTR Hoops News: Top-50 recruit Kayden Allen commits to Cincinnati

By: Ross Van De Griek

Atlanta native Kayden Allen is off the board as he announced he is committing to play for Wes Miller and the Cincinnati Bearcats on Thursday afternoon.

Allen played his freshman season at Grayson High School before transferring to national powerhouse Montverde Academy for his sophomore and junior seasons. Now that he is entering his senior season, Allen will be playing at his third different high school, where he is now enrolled at Long Island Lutheran in New York, where he will play in the Nike EYBL Scholastic once again.

Allen chose the Bearcats over California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, UCF, and several others.

During the Grassroots season, Allen played with Team Thad on the Nike EYBL Circuit, where he was one of their biggest stock risers, averaging 17 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He averaged 20.8 points per game for Team Thad during the Nike EYBL Peach Jam.

Allen is a score-first guard who can impact the game on all three levels, whether it’s off the catch or bounce. He is a rangy athlete who can guard multiple positions on the defensive end as well as utilize his length to battle on the boards with the best of them.

Allen is the first commit for Cincinnati in the 2026 recruiting class.
