OTR Hoops: Senior Spotlight from the SHR Showcase – September 16, 2025

LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia, – The Southern Hoops Report hosted the Fall Showcase at Central Gwinnett High School on September 7th. This Showcase consistently provides a premier setting for prospects in the Atlanta Metro area to get exposure and training. Director Kris Watkins brings more than two decades of experience in coaching and media production to grassroots basketball.

Here is a look at a few of the senior prospects who will draw attention this winter.

Bobby Buggs – Dutchtown – 2026

Among the post event discussions, Buggs was often mentioned as the top prospect at the event. He is an explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands. He is quick to the bucket which is balanced with a confident jumper. The more that Buggs can balance his space creation with involving others in the offense, the more dangerous he becomes on the floor. He should be tracked by all colleges in the region as a player who could instantly add value to their roster.

Elijah Reese – Riverwood – 2026

There is a lot to love about Reese. He is a 6-foot-6 forward with a motor and winning attitude. He played with heart during the event. He ran the court blocking shots out of bounds and finishing plays in the paint. Playing for veteran coach Buck Jenkins this year will give him the opportunity to elevate his profile.

Bryce Howson – Decatur – 2026

Howson is a strong, physical guard who is not afraid of contact. He made a name for himself at OTR events as a consistent scorer and playmaker. He plays with confidence and gets his way often. Pairing up with Jason Wellborn at Decatur High School this year will make the Bulldogs a contender in Class AAAAA.

Devan Fernande – The Walker School – 2026

Fernand has been on a heater this fall. He has earned attention at several camps and fall leagues. He continued to do so at the SHR Fall Showcase. He earned praise for his shooting ability as he drained several 3-pointers from distance. Given Fernand’s size and motor, we would not classify him specifically as a shooting specialist as he can impact the game as a rebounder and defender as well. The 6-foot-3 guard will help make The Walker School competitive nightly this winter.

Torian Greene – Alexander – 2026

Greene has put in his time and earned all the praise thrown his direction. He projects to be a key piece for coach Jason Slate’s group this winter. He attacks the paint with vigor and defends with equal amounts of energy. Matched with his winning attitude and athleticism, he is the type of player a championship team needs on their roster. He starred with the Georgia Canes this year on the OTR Circuit.

Sharod Stafford – Meadowcreek – 2026

Stafford turned heads with his play at the Showcase. He drained jumpers and defended with intensity. He partnered with Kamari Brown (below) with Triangle Elite as one of the toughest guard duos on the OTR Circuit. In an age where guard play means so much, Stafford checks the important boxes for winning games in competitive situations.

Kamari Brown – Meadowcreek – 2026

Brown earned his stripes on the OTR Circuit this year. He earned praise from evaluators as a tough, in-your-face guard who brings energy on both ends of the floor. His effort reflected that evaluation once again at the Showcase. Expect him to lead the way for the Mustangs this season.
