OTR Hoops: The Final Run Top Performers – July 30, 2025

A selection of top performers from The Final Run at Suwanee Sports Academy.
By: Jaron Pierre-Mathurine
Cory McPherson 5’11 G 2027 Sunshine Elite
Cory came up huge in the championship game for Sunshine Elite due to his defensive presence. I was nabbing the opposition team’s guard as an early candidate for MVP of the entire event, and CMP shut him down out the gate. A get in your space type of guard, he played on ball defense exceptionally well, took on the task of slowing down the team’s best player and forced multiple other turnovers throughout the contest.
Tyler Barnes 6’1 G 2027 Triangle Offense Elite
Barnes brought the swagger and grit for the Final Run Circuit. He is usually a glue guy, Swiss army knife type of player for this group, but this weekend the scoring bug bit him hard. He was able to show off his full arsenal of skills, including his midrange game and ball handling ability. His group was a group I probably watched the most of this weekend and he was the scoring leader for all of the games watched. He understood the assignment and stage in front of him and came ready to play like no other.
Jeremiah Evans 6’9 F 2028 EYA
Evans was easily one of the most intriguing prospects for me on the weekend. He pops at you with his 6’9 frame and coming up in the EYA ranks only gives hope for a lot of promise. He has the dog mindset early and shows it on the court, but you can see he’s still filling into his body and getting used to the speed. He was effective defensively altering shots left and right and throwing layups off the backboard, all while showing a reliable scoring option for dump off layups and easy post finishes.
Jeremiah Arthur Williams 6’7 F 2027 Sunshine Elite
Williams was another crucial piece in the championship game due to his size and post presence. Threw down some rim rocking jams, had a soft touch around the rim and even showed why the defense should respect his jumper knocking down a 3 ball. Physical, rim running big that with continued reps and development should continue to see himself as an impact player.
Kamari Brown 6’3 G 2026 Triangle Offense Elite
Brown brought good energy and helped Triangle Offense stay in some competitive matchups. He does a good job getting his teammates involved, and his vocal on both sides of the ball. He did a good job attacking, creating off the dribble and creating for others.
Cedric Haynes Jr 6’5 G 2026 TD Prep
has made his rounds on this circuit and after a true full watch I see why the praises are high. Ready now fame, very loud and emphatic in his play, good back to the basket game and finishes well in traffic. Viewed as of the leaders of this TD group and with this prep year coming up, the work can only help his stock.
AJ Jenkins 2028 Team Speights
high iq guard who picks and gets to his pot with ease. In the matchup, he finished with 39 pts and showed an array of skills down to his pace and ability to get to the ft line. A name out of Fla the hoop heads want to get familiar with early.
Jacob Zhu 6’0 G 2026 Team Person
Zhu brought his talents to the circuit this weekend and wasted no time leaving a lasting impression. His swagger and freestyle style of play mixed with Coach Person old school mentality is the perfect blend on the court. Having a coach that trusts in his skills and allows JZ to play his game helped Team Person coast through the competition. He helped bring flair; some high flying plays due to his lob ability and ball handling skills. All that packaged with his unselfish style of play saw him hoist the Championship trophy for 17u play.
Connor Teasley 6’3 G 2026 Team Person
Teasley known for his scoring, his constant activity on the court is what always catches my attention. If the ball isn’t in Teasley’s hands, he’s making a play nearby for it, or is finding a way to make a play without the ball. He is always moving and willing to do whatever it takes to help Team Person which speaks to why they go into matchups as favorites most of the time. The coaching and attention to deal that CT displays is vital to this teams success and should make for a big senior season as well.
Cornelius Redo 6’3 G 2026 Southern Stars
Displays a solid shooting touch and reliable deep threat. He also possesses some long arms that help him make plays on the defensive end. Can fill up the stat sheet with ease, understands his role and can get to his spots to fill it up.
Rhys Cotton 5’9 G 2026 Team Dickerson
Cotton helped lead Team Dickerson to some convincing wins behind his play. Small guard that plays physical, good footwork, and can score in bunches with ease. For his size does a good job battling in the trenches for rebounds and will turn around and find himself in line as one of the top two scorers for his team in each contest. High IQ guard that shows up and competes whenever his number is called.
Zach Graves 5’11 G 2027 Thunder Select
His presence was felt the moment he stepped in donning TS gear. He brought a different feel and swagger to this group that in his first run with them almost helped them get to the Championship game. He showed his confident scoring play style, just walking down buckets and showing the patience with his footwork to get defenders on their feet and turn a tough shot into an easy non contested shot. His IQ and play raised even more eyebrows, and he showed that he can help any team no matter the setting or time played together.
