OTR Hoops – UCAAG Standouts – August 5, 2025

A list of standouts from the Underclassman All-American Game (UCAAG) at Holy Innocents School in Atlanta, Georgia.

By: Jaron Pierre-Mathurine

Draydne McDaniel 6’8 G Calvary Chrisitan (FL)

McDaniel brought the swagger to the competition between all three groups. Excelled in transition. Was also looking to make the extra pass or collect hockey assist with quick tap passes when his team had the numbers advantage. Good size, played well off the wing and did a good job getting to the rim.

Flory Kuminga 6’6 G 2029 Lawrence Woodmere (NY)

Kuminga is one of the few players to participate back-to-back years in this event, and the development was glaring from last year’s game to this year. Now even more emphatic on the offensive end as he was defensively, he showed the ability to create off the dribble and punish the rim for strong finishes. There are no wasted movements with his dribbles, and he possesses a nice size and frame and plays with good intensity.

Austin Leonard 6’4 G 2029 Grayson (GA)

Leonard is a familiar face on the Georgia scene. He wasted no time showing off his comfortability on the floor. He plays with good pace, 3 level scorer and is comfortable with the ball in his hands making plays for himself or others. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him get some quality minutes early for Grayson his first season and continue to turn himself into a household name.

Eli Murray 6’6 G 2029 St. Francis (NY)

It felt like Eli always had the ball in his hands and wasn’t shy to make a play. A little first game jitters affected the entire group, but Murray was assertive, got to his spots with ease and displayed nice size at the guard spot. He has a quick release, has a comfortable stroke from deep and you can see in his game when he is on he is one that fills it up with ease.

Zaire Colbert 6’1 G 2029 The Rock School (FL)

Colbert did a good job maneuvering through the defense and putting guys in scoring positions. Had an effective dribble mid-range pull up and kept the defense honest due to his shooting. Navigated the offense well, was never rushed in his motions and did a good job keeping turnovers to a minimum as the lead guard. Plays with a tight crafty handle and although not the biggest he still makes himself an effective and reliable option on this team.

David Moudoyi 6’9 F 2029 Athlete Academy (NJ)

While winning MVP in a tough loss, Madouie put the gym on watch with his versatile skill set. The 6’9 F showed he can put the ball on the floor, shoot the mid-range j, and get physical in the post. His long arms allowed him to be effective on the defensive end showing he can guard multiple positions. He was exceptionally well on his feet showing he can beat smaller defenders off the dribble. Madouie possess a solid base to build on and as he continues to add to his arsenal he will become a household name.

Cadien Hudson 6’6 G 2029 Mount Bethel (GA)

Hudson put his big guard skills on display in a very convincing performance at UCAAG. He excels with the ball in his hand and when he’s truly locked in he’s a walking mismatch on the court. Effective in transition and getting downhill, not many guards can deal with his size and ability to finish at the rim. He has a confident handle, can push the break off the rebound and has a good motor to his game. This was a good crowd to test his skill set and note what can be worked on.

Jeremy Jenkins 6’8 F 2027 Riviera Prep (FL)

I was introduced to Jenkins’ game via GBCA earlier this summer and his motor was unmatched during that event. FF to the all-star game and the same intensity was prevalent. It is what JJ does. You give him the ball and let him attack the rim until the defense finds an answer. He has a very mature presence on the court; he plays with a lot of will and is not afraid to compete with best. He takes on the tough assignments defensively and wants to be the guy to make a play for his team. He continued work on his outside shooting and jump shot will be key to truly see him become a complete player.

Reese Alston 6’2 G 2027 Second Baptist (TX)

The Alston name is synonymous with handles in the hoop community, and he lived up to the bill. As the competition went on and he fully took control of the guard duties, you saw the making of a baby wizard. He plays with the ball on an absolute string and plays with great pace and feel. When attacking, he can get to the rim with minimal dribbles and finish at a high rate around the rim. He picks and gets to his spots with ease and he was making passes all over the court that showed traits of a high IQ guard. He too continues to work on his outside shooting and shooting off the dribble, his stock will continue to rise expeditiously.

Zion Green 6’8 F 2027 Camden (PA)

Green had a really good blend of size and skillset and if you know me you know I love a good blend on the wing. A true 6’8, he looked comfortable putting the ball on the floor, showed the ability to shoot the 3 but had a strong foundation in the low post as well. He finished at a high rate around the rim, does a good job using his size to shield off defenders and attack the rim. He possesses a versatile skill set that with continued work will see his performances become more consistent.

Kenan Dikamba 6’6 G 2027 Legion Prep Academy (TX)

Dikamba might have had a hand in turning the energy up on the day. His defense was pestering, and it caused a couple of players to get chippy with him which turned up the intensity a bit. His size was also effective on that end as he was patient with his timing and knew when to reach to disrupt the dribble. Diamba has solid midrange jumper, crafty handle and knocked some big 3s in the contest.

Jeremiah Evans 6’9 F 2028 Eagles Landing (GA)

We got hip to Evans’ game a couple weeks ago and he did not miss a beat. He brought his gritty, scrappy motor to the event and had himself a solid showing. He’s looking more comfortable in his motions and shows to be a reliable scoring threat in the post. He finished around the rim at a high rate and threw down some big jams showing the athleticism. The more comfortable he gets the more dangerous his performances will get because he wants to make a play, and he wants to provide those buckets for his group.

Peter Julius 6’9 F 2028 Mount Bethel (GA)

Julius was a monster in the most and made sure the rims at HIES felt his presence. Only a rising sophomore, he literally had the rim post moving due to the force and power he was finishing with. Already a household name behind his play and recent Peach Jam championship with GA Starts, PJ shows why the traditional big will always be effective. He brings a strong low post presence, keeps the ball high, sturdy base and jams everything, He provided the anchor for this group and will look to continue that role throughout his high school career.

Michai White 6’2 G 2028 Brewster Academy (NJ)

White is an effective guard that played bigger than his size, had a high scoring clip, and did a good job leading his team on the day. He brought very efficient play, showed the ability to score on three levels and take over from the guard spot if needed. He plays with a physical downhill style and brought the east coast grit to the court.

Myles Hayes 6’5 G 2028 Woodward (GA)

Myles full arsenal was on display and showed how effective he can be when his full bag is flowing. I had mental notes about his shooting ability and how he does that at a high rate, but in the UCAAG he displayed way more ball handling ability and creating off the dribble. He has a quick twitch to him and as a defender if not careful he will make you pay if your feet and base isn’t set. With the size and lineage behind him, the continued reps and him getting more comfortable in his motions will continue to help set him apart.

Evan Willis 6’9 F 2028 Mater Dei (Ca)

We could see himself in contention as one of the MVP’s on the entire day. With his 6’9 frame he was very comfortable handling the ball, pushing the break and initiating offense. He showed the ability to guard 1-5 and play big or small. He also had a strong baseline drive that resulted in a poster jam. He has all the tools needed to be a high-level player and this past weekend glimpses were shown.
