Folds’s Fab 5- 5 standouts from Sweet 16 II
23’ G Jalen Hilliard – Jalen was the most athletic player I saw all weekend he can simply jump out of the gym. The athletic guard has a solid college ready frame is extremely quick and can takeover a game. I was shocked to hear this young man is unsigned and I do not understand why. I would have offered him on the spot after this weekend’s standout performance. Strong finisher at the rim, physical rebounder and tough defender. Jump on this young man quickly he will not be unsigned for long.
23’ Jo’el King– Long, athletic, great motor are the words that come to mind when describing this young man. He had a solid overall weekend and made noise on any court he played on. Smooth midrange, polished ballhandling skills and above average IQ make him an intriguing prospect. Goes hard on both ends of the floor and is quick to light a fire under his teammates when needed. Very impressed with his overall body of work this past weekend.
26’ Malik Gillespie- I had to do a double take to see that Malik is 2026 while he was playing 17u. In the games I saw he was the best player on the court, and you would have never known that he was playing 2 divisions up. Silky smooth guard who uses combo moves to get where he wants to on the floor. Start recruiting him early as his name will only continue to travel across the recruiting scene.
23’ Paul Djobet – Paul simply dominated the event alongside his teammates with the Showtime Ballers. This team was one of the most exciting teams to watch throughout the event and Paul was a clear standout. Paul was offered by a D1 school after one of his games and I am confident he will continue to receive interest into the summer. Paul is very athletic, solid finisher and doesn’t seem to ever get tired. Really impressed by his overall game and the energy he brings to the floor.
23 Dallas Jones – Dallas was a standout on a loaded Joppa Ballers team. Dallas is a physical guard rock solid who was a handful to deal with for the opposing team. Fearless when driving to the hole and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Buy his stock now this is another loaded roster, but Dallas was the one who really caught my attention.
